Many use 8x5 Plastic Sheets.
Placed in a basic 9 1/2 by 7 1/2 or similar binder.

I have a Legal Type briefcase that holds 4 binders,
plus the maps. With outer pockets for other items.

I was using some of the plastic page protectors I got for SFB and all I'd need is a binder.

I'll check out those smaller sheets. Probably a better choice and I can save the bigger ones for SFB and B5Wars.

There have been a few other threads about this, with other input, if you're interested. One of the more-recent ones.

I use double-pocket protectors from Rabco (their MC50 size), in binders.

They can hold about 5 laminated ship cards, per-pocket and are quite thick and tough (much thicker than the office store kind).

The binders of cards, rules, and map panels, and some craft boxes full of counters go in a big bin that travels with me to games. I also have my miniatures in craft boxes and can bring whichever boxes of minis I think I'll need for the day's play.

Thanks for the illustrative photographs. :)

I definitely need a craftbox. And binders. Lots of binders.

Oh, that link for Rabco Plastics sheet protectors is way out of date. Here's a current link:

Sorry. I was cut-n-pasting from the old-thread, verbatim.

I edited my post with the working link.

Does anyone know how many ship cards total there are? I was told I could look at the latest booster pack for the number but I probably won't have that for another week or so.

I haven't the foggiest, but you might be able to get the number you want using the master ship chart(s).

I meant that apparently the ship cards have a running counter so the most recent booster pack would be numbered something like X of XX cards (I see this numbering style on some of the cards I got with boosters 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9, but only the ships that are new vs. those that were in Klingon or Romulan border). I can't seem to find a specific example right now, or I'd cite it.

The chart you linked includes ships from Captain's Log so the count would be off.

Took a quick look on the shopping card.
Individual cards are available.
Wyn cards go to #229,
didn't look through all the Empires.
Would be a good place to get a count.

Vudar goes to 232

I'm gonna buy 25 sheets, I think. Each sheet should hold 10

If you can spurge for it, go for 30. In addition to that 232, you also have another 30 or so booster exclusive ship cards. Plus another module or two will eventually come out.

(The booster exclusive card numbers start with a B. All other card numbers that start with a letter can be ignored, as they are not laminated cards.)

Ah, that explains why there are like three different numbering schemes on the boosters.

I'm probably going to buy page protectors from Staples or some other nearby store. I almost ordered some by mail but the shipping was a bit high.

The numbering scheme is:
No leading letter: Base laminated ship cards.
B: Booster exclusive ship card. (Note that Reinforcements Attack boosters were all new ships, and none of them used B because they weren't really "exclusives", just how the ships were divided up.)
C: Ships published only in Communique
L: Ships published only in Captain's Log
E: Ships published only in an ePack
F: Middle Years (Briefing #2) and BoM ships.
Z: Ships from Booster #0 (all since superseded with base numbers).
There are some others (like M for maulers) that are just used as place holders in the chart that aren't actual ship card numbers.

Note that any ship with a C or L (or E, for that matter) that are published as a laminated ship card will get a new number. Only base numbers and those that start with a B are laminated.

If you are going to just use Staples, you could scale down and use 5.5x8.5 page protectors in 5.5x8.5 binders. That is what I did, and these are just items that Staples carries. No mail orders required at all. Those are working out just great for me. (And, apparently, others, based on the above referenced thread.)
