Different Finish on Ship Cards?

Post by DNordeen »

Hi Everyone,

I just picked up Reinforcements Attack and Booster 36.

The finish on the cards is noticeably different maybe even not existent.

I compared it to my other cards from the other sets (I have all sets now).

Best I can describe it is that the cards did not have the plastic coating on them.

Was this on purpose? Did the printer forget to put the finish on?

Anyone know how to fix it?

Please contact Leanna at sales@starfleetgames.com and see what she can do for you. She does not read the Forum (or BBS), so you have to email her. But she is your best bet to see what your options are.

Following up....

Leanna told me that ADB switched from lamination to a UV coating. She told me to try marking it and wiping it off. If it came off, it had the UV coating.

After a lot of trepidation, I marked up a couple of cards from RA and Booster 36. The mark came right off. I marked them up again and left them. After about 2 hours sitting there, the marks still came off.

So basically, there is a new finish (UV instead of laminated). It looks and feels very different, but it works just fine.

What did you mark it with, out of curiosity?
I used an overhead projector marker and it didn't come off (Got some replacement cards already).

Yeah, don't use wet erase on the new finish. Dry erase only.
