Vudar BAttleship?
Did the Vudar get a BB in Federation Commander?
Re: Vudar BAttleship?
No. But that shouldn't be too surprising, since I don't think they have one in SFB, either.asguard101 wrote:Did the Vudar get a BB in Federation Commander?

I still wish there had been a Devastator Ship Card in War and Peace.storeylf wrote:Andro are lacking a BB in FC at least, really! the Dommy is just a big DN
Still, I'd hope there could be room at some point for it (and for Module C3A's Devourer, its dissection beam-armed stablemate from the "dark future" which the Darwin encountered in 2595/2607).
Perhaps there could one day be a "dark future" ePack for the Andromedans at some point? It could include the Devastator, the four dissection beam-armed ships from C3A, and the Desecrator Starbase (which the historical Andros still don't have yet in FC).
And speaking of battleships, Omega could do with a few, even if they were mostly conjectural.
There is a Maesron BB in SSJ1, which is classed as an unbuilt variant; but the Iridani have the Man-O-War in Module Omega 3, and those were actually built and used in various campaigns, most notably in the Grand Quest against the Andromedans.
Other empires, such as the Trobrin or Probr, might have drawn up plans for similar-sized ships, though it would remain to be seen if any of them were ever built. (I could only imagine how cumbersome, yet fearsome, an Auroran battleship might have been.)

Well... You could make an upgraded version of the BB for all races, like the B11 for Klingons.
But what I'd like to see in the future is a new type of ship. We already have BCH which are, more less, DNs with a Cruiser shields and power. I'd like to see a type of BC, or even a DN, that have the shields and power of a higher class ship, power to include more batteries as well as engines.

The Seltorians only have a light battleship that was in a communique, unless you count the battlewagon. I wouldn't mind seeing a Hive ship card.
The Tholians could use a conjectural battleship that was built in the Milky Way. It would be interesting to see how many destroyer hulls it would take to build that!

I think there was an Archeo-Tholian BB done up for one of the Stellar Shadows files in SFB.
I don't recall if it was listed as an "unbuilt variant" (in that it would have been been functional as a unit had the Holdfast been able to build one) or if it was noted as being an impossible design (in that it would not have worked within the bounds of acceptable SFU engineering principles).
If the former, it would be viable for FC; if the latter, not so much.
Actually, there is a reference to a unit called the Assaultwagon (a web breaker conversion of the Nest Ship) in the Seltorian F&E preview from Captain's Log #45.
No SSD exists for the AW as of yet, but perhaps that could be an option for them in FC someday.

I fear that an Orion BB would be horribly broken. The existing DN's power track goes to 100+. The DN is really pushing things IMHO.
A WYN Fish BB would be fun, and I think the WYN Fish don't have a DN (BCH is as big as it gets, IIRC).

DNordeen is correct, in that the obvious candidates are the Orion, Andromedans, Vudar, and WYN. The Andromedans have a BB in SFB; the other three do not. I agree with Terry that an Orion BB would likely be highly problematic.
Two other possibilities are the Archeo-Tholians and the Seltorians. The Archeo-Tholian BB is, I think, an "impossible" design, but, hey, it is a thought. The Seltorians have their Battle Wagon as a BB replacement, but it isn't really a BB, but rather a purpose-built siege weapon.
So, I will mention the list to Petrick in an email: Vudar, WYN, Orion, and Seltorian. It'll be fun to see what he thinks of the various ships. (I don't have to mention the Andromedan or Archeo-Tholian, as they already exist in SFB. If Steve wants to use them in Federation Commander, he can do it at any time.)
