New terrain and base structures for Federation Commander
Are we expected to see new terrain and structures rules for Federation Commander in future products or as part of Border of Madness ?
I play FC exclusively, but SFB seems to have a lot of very interesting options to "spice up" a map / scenario.
Some of the rules I would be specifically interested in seeing:
- New terrain: Black Holes and Pulsars
- Ground structures
- MINES
I guess the terrain can always be incorporated as part of a specifically scenario, but ground structures and mines would open up a whole universe of possibilites for scenarios with a different flavor (including solitaire ones).

I expect that we will see black holes and pulsars as some point.
I also expect that we will see ground bases, too.
I would not hold my breathe on mines, however. They appear to have been actively excluded from Federation Commander. Mines in some form may eventually make it into Borders of Madness (likely as pre-placed mines; no laying or transporter bombs), but probably not in Federation Commander.

That is exactly what I am looking for. Hidden, pre-placed mines, as an extra layer of protection for a base or target. I personally have no interest in T-Boms and weasels and agree that they would go against the spirit of Federation Commander.Mines in some form may eventually make it into Borders of Madness (likely as pre-placed mines; no laying or transporter bombs)

I wouldn't expect weasels in FC ... ever. In BoM, well, maybe in the second or third volume. Same for T-bombs.
Mines, maybe in BoM, not necessarily in the first one.
Black Holes and pulsars should be easy to do. If Mike and/or Tony would write them up (why don't you each pick one) and send them to me, I will put them in Hydran Attack.

Mike, I am glad that you did both, as I have always wanted to do THE FOG AND FRENZY OF WAR(I believe that this is the correct name) scenario in Fedcom. I look forward to seeing these rules, along with Black Holes, in Hydran Attackmjwest wrote:OK, did the pulsar rules.
Just for fun, I took a stab at nebula rules, too.
And therein lies another set of map boards. I remember a while back SVC asked us which maps we'd like; if there are new terrain features then maps to depict these are the obvious way to go.
Black hole: a black hex in the middle surrounded by some sort of spiral, violet pattern to simulate the influx pattern. And then the rest of the map is sort of distorted through gravitational lensing.
Pulsar: A bright hex in the middle [the pulsar] with either a pair of 'beams' 180 degrees apart, like lighthouse beams, or a set of concentric bright waves centred on the pulsar.
Nebula: Either Hubble pictures of the Orion sword nebulae, like the Horsehead area or similar. Or sneeze on the board and photograph that
Naturally there'd need to be several nebula maps because the nebula would probably fill the whole board - if the SFB rules are ported over anyway. Or let FC have 'edge of nebula' rules....
Ideas, anyway
