Marketing Ideas

Post by Vanessa »

OK, my job is to effectively marketing our products and especially the new site (shopping cart). Anyone have ideas to help? News sites that don't cost an arm and a leg to place web banners up, forums I should maybe be visiting, etc. I'm all ears. :D

Blank Label Comics has a number of science-fiction comics whose readers might be interested to see a "Star Trek"-theme boardgame.

I have created an animated ad banner, which you are welcome to use.

I have Schlock Mercenary, Starslip Crisis, and Evil, Inc. all bookmarked. I link to the first two on my Traveller fansite. I have also bought both Schlock Mercenary books despite the fact that the strips are still available on the internet for free.

So, I guess that means I agree with Mike's suggestion. (Or at least help substantiate it. :) )

We're set pretty well on animated web banners...Jolene is wonderful about taking the cover art and different parts of it to animate it. :D

I'd suggest the Trek BBS, a good site to spread the word at!

It would be great if some of you guys would go to the Trek BBS and mention our company, universe, web site, and products. Don't be upset, however, if some "true trekkers" don't want to hear about us.

The topics of SFB/FC come up from time to time at TrekBBS - if you search the gaming forum you should be able to find them. From the small amount of discussions I've been in over there there are a substantial number of younger fans who are only interested in NextGen and other recent shows. It's the reason that on the computer game side, games like Bridge Commander, SFC III and ST: Armada are more popular than SFC II.

There are also a number of fans over there obsessed with Star Trek "canon" - the episodes/books/games/etc that tie in correctly with Star Trek continuity, and these people aren't interested in anything that does not fit in.
