This is what I am working on right now. Still need to finish up my Romulan captain

Nice! Did you make the captains yourself or have you based them on another model?

The captians were made from 1/35 scale US Army infantry soldiers made by Tamiya I bought on sale for less than $5. I sanded the features down and brushed on large amounts of Testors' plastic cement to "melt/blend" the features several times. I then made the phaser/dirupter from the gun parts in the set. I also used green stuff to mold certain areas as well as the hair on the heads. It was a very simple process and I supprised myself witht the results. I got the idea from another website in which a guy named Stephen Oakley Slater created a shuttle craft diorama

The Death Probe was made from a pen cap and green stuff. I then made a mold from plaster and made a cast using extra fishing weights.

The Space Boar is not finished yet. It will take a couple of more days since I am waiting for the green stuff to dry. I added a "spine" and made tusk last night. I still have to modify the spine and add the tusk to the model. The tusk will be placed facing stright down. When I am finished I will try to make a mold and cast one. On the first one I cast I then will bend the tusk into a curve like a real boar. Not sure how this will work out because I am not all that good at making molds. I am only experienced in using plaster. I have tried using latex, but it took forever to dry and I am not that patient.

I was trying to do something a little different. I felt that the hawk series ships needed wings to go along with the eagle series ships, and I never liked the idea of 3 nacells on a ship except for the larger ships. I decided on a green color scheme for the same reason that Roman Legionairs supposedly wore red to hide their blood from their enemies. I know this does not go along with the SFU history, soI am still developing a theme for my star legion. I am not sure yet if this is a black ops fleet or if one of the houses (Aurellius) decided to develop their own fleet. That would explain the different ships configurations. I guess that I have always felt that the Romulans were treated unfaily in the original series, having a small ship for the Preator's flagship, having to borrow from the Klingons, and running away from the Vulcans. I would think that the Vulcans left Romulus being pacifist and all. Any way here are some pics of my Romulan fleet I know that they are not all that clear. Still working on the details of the camera.

The large ship is a Condor
The next one is a Novahawk or Royalhawk
The next one is a Firehawk
The last one is a Sparrowhawk
It is kind of hard to see, but the hulls are different at the top where you are suppost to glue the engines. I sanded them down to represent the diffent classes.

I certainly do like th look of your Romulans. They are different enough to "stand out" but sill recognizable for what they are.

Are those stations made of TinkerToys?

The stations were made with:

wooden balls for the main body 1 1/4" for the BS not sure for the SB
wood dowels 1/8" for the booms
or use 5/32" brass tube (don't get the aluminum cheaper, but bends)
wooden beads with holes for the pods(make sure that the dowels fit the
holes)
furniture buttons 3/8" (for the command section)
pin (for old style look on command section)

every thing was purchased at the local craft store

Using a plastic mini base for a guide so that everything would line up I drilled holes for the booms. Take your time on this to make sure they line up correctly.

Tried thinking of something as a ring to use to connect the pods for the SB as in the picture, but could not come up with anything feasable.

Sand parts, glue, and putty gaps (in that order or else...)
Primed Wal-mart grey (best primer in the world)

Overall it would have been less expensive to purchase the minis, but I had some extra things around the house from other projects and wanted my stations to be a little larger.

After you mintioned it they do look kind of tinker toyish. Wanted to keep the image simple and clean like the original series. Maybe I should have used something different for the pods to make them look more like the ones in TA pg 18. The tips of Bic Pen pens? What do you think?

I gotta say I love those Romulans. I think they keep the original Eagle design while showing the Klingon influences much better then the actual ships do.
