The ship for today is the ultimate version of the Klingon "frigate" hull, the big brother to even the enlarged F5W war destroyer, the greatly expanded and powerful HF5 heavy war destroyer.
A ship for today is the classic "smooth" "B" version of the Klingon SD7 strike cruiser, with its short boom and other tweaks to make it competitive with the Federation's Prometheus-class CS.
No ship today. Today is something very different.
This is the stand I designed for ADB's new line of gameroom decorations - a starship decoration can hang from the hook and be suspended on a shelf or your desk.
Happy Christmas Eve, to those who celebrate. Today's ship is the much-loved Federation NCL new light cruiser. I was very happy to get a chance to do my own take on this classic design.
Edit: Forgot to ask if it includes the refit. Most seem to be the FC compatible refit versions, but want to ask. If so, are the refit phasers on the bottom of the saucer?
No hanging version at this time, but it could be done if there is demand.
Yes, it's the refit version. The phaser-3 mounts are on the lower face of the saucer.
For the most-part, the Feds have all been done to their fully-refitted patterns. Easier for folks to file off stuff they don't want, than try to add it. They're also all available in both smooth and with-grid, since September.
It would get pretty expensive to buy one-each of all the different refits. Consider: Fed CA, CA+, CAR, CAR+, CC, CC+, CB. Seven ships that all look alike from ten feet away.
Now imagine a Shapeways store with four versions of each of these.......

Trying not to imagine it, as it would give me nightmares. As it is, I end up doing 4 different models of each ship (smooth 3788 and 3125 scale, gridded 3788 and 3125 scale), sometimes 6 (Franz Joseph 3788 and 3125 scale).

Nah, I botched it. I was thinking Klingon frigates, which are the worst. Long-neck, short-neck, windows, no-windows, aztec, no-aztec, and all the permutations therein.
