Has Federation Commander Klingon Border been discontinued?

Post by FluxCobalt »

Has FCKB been discontinued? I just can't seem to find it any where. I did buy FCRB recently and I would like to get FCKB.

I just thought I would ask.

It's not discontinued, it's just that the counters are out of stock. They will be reprinted, although I do not know exactly when.

Actually they're being reprinted right now. I should have the proof in hand today or tomorrow, then just a guess two weeks.

They would have been done by now except that the die cutter made us a surprise offer to run them eight-up instead of four-up which meant we could reprint eight products instead of four. It took me ten days to get the other four countersheets done.

By chance, are the map panels going to be available to be sold separately?

Not sure about those. The place that made them for us closed. We've debated between finding a new one and reformatting the game to use paper maps. No decision has been made.

I just ordered FCRB, will that come with the map panels? Will FCKB come with map panels or a different map?

Darn, I love the map panels.

Even my messed up panel that had tape on it for some reason.

Map Panels: If you order it now (or probably for the rest of this year) it will have map panels. After that, I'm not sure. I'm still trying to find a source, even looking into printing them in two-pieces and 9x12 with us trimming each one to the correct size.

The one with tape on it is a packing grade panel that was used as "a random sheet of blank cardboard as a stiffener in some FC product" and was never sold as a map panel. When we get the panels, every box of 100 has a panel taped to the outside. Rather than throw those tape-ruined panels away we use them to replace stiffener boards. If you get one and hate it, you got it free so throw it out. If you love it, then use it and let no one call you a barbarian.

I took one of my tape-defaced panels and cut it up to make the center piece of our Battle in 'Boro trophy:

I used my "stiffener" map panels for my FC game demo-kit. If they walked away, I was out nothing.

If you can get map panels again, please use them. They are far far superior to paper maps.

The taped panel seems to be one of the 12 panels I have for play, and it connects to the other 11, unlike other stiffener panels I've received.
