Klingon Battlecruisers - DONE!

Post by Scoutdad »

I finally finished the 14 Klingon D76 and D7 class battlecruisers.
Photos on facebook (Call to Arms Star Fleet fans) and photobucket (scoutdad).

Next up:
Three Klingon C8s, 2 FD7s, 3 D5s and 3 D5Ws:

Lovely work and I think you have enough of them now :P

I'm still intending to modify my D-5Ws. I fought to get the deckhouse lengthened (as-on the SL2400 mini), but that was a fight with diminishing returns, so I quieted down on that one.

Things I can fix myself by adding a bit on, or cutting a bit off, weren't worth making the CAD modeler angry over. Molded-in features that would be really hard to fix, that was worth fighting for.

Those look really great. I like the green color on the various cooling vents.

I'm converting two more of the D7s into D7Cs.

After the intial work is completed and painting begins, I think I'm going to paint the wing panels in a medium green, highlight with a lighter green, and then wash the panel area with green ink.
This shoud give it the opposite effect that is visible on the vents and disruptors... and it'll make a nice transition from TOS style grey Klingons to TNG style green Klingons.

sort of an intermediate step... a missing link, if you will.
