After 16 months... a Coalition victory!

Post by jmt »

My regular opponent and I finished up our FnE Historical campaign this evening. We started it in January of 2010 and played every other Sunday up until today. After 16 months, and about 160 hours of play time, the Klingon Deep Space Fleet wiped out the Star Fleet defenders over Earth and forced an Alliance surrender (i.e. the three capital victory).

We played using FnE 2010 plus all the expansions - including the Advanced Diplomacy rules. It was these that allowed the Coalition win IMHO. Using this rule, the Romulans came into the war 2 years early forcing the Federation to fight a two-front war from the beginning.

In retrospect, I would not recommend using the Advanced Diplomacy rules as they can (apparenlty) skew the game quite a bit.

Coalition victories are rare enough, so congratulations. But yes the Diplomatic rules probably skewed things a tad.

Congratulations on the F&E win, not to mention just finishing the game!

That is definitely an accomplishment.
