Starline 2500 Show off thread!

Post by iams »

Hi guys! As far as I can see there isn't a thread yet for showing off the 2500's yet, so Ill get it started.

Here are my fed and rom boxes. The DNG is missing because it came with a BC secondary hull, hopefully that'll get worked out soon haha. I think the CL was missing a dish too, but other than that these were pretty cool models!

Romulan - please excuse my birds on the bottom, I'm going to go back and redo them. I wanted to do an Andean Condor on the Condor, but it needs to be redone. And I need to get around to doing a bird for the KR and the Skyhawk.

It's going to be many months before I can get serious about painting mine, so I'll just have to admire yours from afar.

Very nice work on these - you really show the details and clean surfaces of the new resin minis off well.

I think a lot of folks will be excited to see the comparison photos of the metal vs. resin minis, especially of ones painted so consistently well. Gives a really good, real-world look at how they can appear on the game table.

Very nice.
All you're lacking are some good looking decals for those new Fed ships.

Those look great! Fantastic painting and detail work.

I just got a couple of squad boxes in the other day and I think that both of my DNGs had the wrong secondary hull as well. At least I think they are wrong...judging by the fact that the nacelles have two bumps and the engineering hull has a long slot.

I put one together anyway, just to make it work.

But again, those look really slick and I am hoping to see more!

Yup! That is exactly what mine was like. I considered assembling it, but the secondary hull would look wayyyy out of proportion. And apparently the CL doesn't have a dish, is what the Mongoose sales person just told me, its an error, so that worked itself out. They probably attached a frigate one thinking they were going to sell it with the CL.

Thanks guys! I am honored that you like them!!!

Nice work.

I might mention that Matthew at Mongoose was mumbling something about a "black-painted fed squadron" and perhaps might enjoy seeing Federation squadrons in unusual paint schemes that reflect the dynamic personality of the squadron commander and the daring and boldness of the supply officer in ordering 50-gallon drums of paint.

iams -

Mongoose chose to model the deflector "dish" as a recessed feature under the nose of the old CL, so there should indeed not be a separate dish part on that ship.

I'll be kit-bashing one onto mine though, using dishes from ADB's metal mini kitbash packs.
