The D7D is a combat variant of the D7 that is not a drone bombardment ship. There are no special sensors and the Disrupters are replaced with the extra drone racks. The two wing phasers are the special sensors.

Ii am sure you know this already as you have the same references that I have, just wanted to make sure our readers know also.

@Mike: Yes, i know. Just having an Evey moment there.

@will: The DNH is definitly in the next expansion, so I'm not goign to build one.
I'm going to take my extra DN and build an FJD DN.

So far, the really interesting attempts look like:
Federation CA to CAD.
Federation DNG to DN.
Klingon D6 to D6M.
Klingon D6 to D6D.
Tholian TK5.

Many other D6, D5, and D5W conversions were suggested, but the requested units are either in ACTA: Battleships or the conversion is so similar to oone already suggested as to be redundant; i.e. F5D / E4D / D5D / D6D... D6G / D5G...

Come on, no love for the Romulans?
What about the Kzinti?

Poll goes up on Christmas Day.

Well, the DNH is in the next expansion, but there's no telling if Mongoose will find it "different" enough to do a mini or not. It's pretty same-ish looking to the DNG unless you know what to look for.

For the Romulans, perhaps the GryphonHawk, or the Fast SparrowHawk?

Or perhaps a conversion of the Federation POL into a Federal Republic Frigate? (The CL and CR minis pretty much work as-is for their FRA counterparts as it stands.)

EDIT: Actually, something more ambitious for the FRA could be the hybrid-design Destroyer. With a stretched POL secondary hull mated to an F5's boom and engines, the resulting ship might look like quite an odd duck... but is no slouch once it enters service.

I feel you, there. In fact, I am positive that I won't get the fleet boxes until well after I start my new gig on 1/3/12. :(

As a Hydran player, I third the motion for the E4D- they were the most plentiful drone ship and are, if added into a Klingon formation, a decent headache for a Hydran frigate fleet.

Also, the Hydran Saracen Frigate Leader, as I'm a big fan of running pure Fusion fleets, and it's a fairly straightforward one.

For the Omega races, any Auroran ship not already doe would be nice.

Again, the base hulls for this unit are not yet avaialble.
Remember, this is for Starline 2500 ships.

I'm not talking about total scratchbuilds here, but only conversions of existing mins that anyone could perform themselves by following the step-by-step directions.

What? I'm confused by this statement.

A D7D retains its disruptors and the wing Ph-2s and original drone racks are replaced with 4 Type-B Drone Racks and additional shuttles. Oddly enough the SFB version does not have and ADD (which I always found ridiculous) yet the FC version does have an ADD ( hooray! ).

Swear to the Black Fleet that's how my old command, the IKV Strangler was configured...

Yes, the D7D retains its disruptors and is still classified as a Battlecruiser, not a Drone cruiser.

The D6D Drone cruiser replaces it's disruptors with special sensors, but not this one.

It is funny about the ADD. I was fact-checking the stat blocks for the D7D for the new A Call to Arms expansion yesterday and had my SFB materails set out before me to verify everything. I couldn't find the ADD on the SSD, so I reported it to Mongoose as a potential error. then later, I thought about the Fed Comm version and checked...

My concern was that I had missed an update or retcon of some kind concerning the D7D.

Looking forward to these variants...and a E7 or two in the future.
