Just last month, in fact.

There are a number of fans of Old School gaming that prefer it over F&E... some due to the lack of neutral zones, some due to the more tactical feel of the combat system, many due to the much shorter rules...

It's not a bad game; it just doesn't match up with SFB result-wise.

I could never get past the botched map, that spread out the tiny little spot in the center over the entire Federation.

And someone posted a replay of a game of Fed Space on Consimworld recently. I bought the game last year, and to be honest would be more likely to play it over F&E.

In any event, I happen to be eagerly anticipating Star Fleet Marines...

I am fanatically awaiting the release of Star Fleet Marines Assault! Everyone around me is about sick of hearing about by now. As far as F&E, I wish it could be made into a 4x game app for the ipod or even into a PC game. It would be tough for me to get an opponent that could stick out an entire game of F&E although I really dig the concept. That's not to say I won't get it someday, but right now, I have far too much catching up to do with SFB mods and Fed Com stuff.
