KRAG (a whole different game)

Post by Steve Cole »

KRAG (Klingon Rapid Assault Group) is a separate game that is two or three years away. It is "one man, one counter" and is designed to handle combat inside a starship. I mention it here only in case somebody want to know what KRAG is. I am not accepting submissions, suggestions, or even questions at this point. I have to do SFM (and some other stuff) first.

Just a thought. The GURPS combat system can substitute for boarding party OPs.

Now that PD Traveller will be coming out, there perhaps could be a "soft launch" of the KRAG concept using MGT rules.

I'm sure any RPG rules could be used for that, but KRAG is intended to be it's own game.

Just based on the description, it sounds like KRAG is more the game I'm looking for. I'll keep an eye open for updates.

Depending on the detail level, KRAG may wind up used as an RPG.

I don't intend to be pushy, but will you let us know when you are accepting these? I have something in mind that I'd like to have considered for this game.

I probably won't consider any input until the game is past the design stage and into playtesting. At this point, nobody outside of my office knows enough about where the game is going to give any real input. (Some work on project T will probably move right into Krag.) If you want to send me an email you can, but you may not get a response. (I have gotten a lot of email over the last year, 99% of which clearly has no idea what the game is about. One guy wanted to suggest some rules for tanks, but i don't see how you maneuver a tank inside a starship.)

I don't believe even a Klingon Marine would do a boarding action on a Dominator, by the time you could beam over, your on a ticking time bomb, just waiting for the explosion --

I wouldn't try a boarding action on a Dominator

I'm looking forward to hearing more about this as well! :D
