News on Booster 93 (and 94 and 95)
[This is directly from Steve Cole]
To review: Booster 93 isn't on the official schedule because we lost money on Booster 92. This was because of two reasons; low sales compared to other boosters, and higher cost (every card is effectively a short-run bonus card; most boosters have only one or two of those and six or seven much less expensive general use cards). the other problem is that all of the other boosters had a minis box which was a profitable item that would not exist without the booster. A minis box for 92 or 93 would not sell very well, and wouldn't make a profit, and would pollute the line with a low-selling SKU convincing stores not to buy Squadron Box #31.
All my fault. Booster 91, 92, 93, 94. 95 were a great game design idea and a dumb production idea. Oh well.
We looked into selling these on e23 but the problem is that nobody wants an e23 pack of LTTs; they want only single-empire packs. So, in the end, the cards done for Boosters 93, 94, and 95 may get scattered across a dozen e23 packs, one for each empire. Pity, as we ALL want laminated cards.
I have gotten a production quote that isn't totally insane (using a less expensive coating process that seems to work well in tests), but is still more money than we have received to date for Booster 92, so it is still a money losing deal.
So I talked to Leanna, and we reviewed the situation. Her answer was "If we have 100 people order them by mail order, paying full price, I will allow it to be printed."
I asked her if 75 would do, and she said "Probably not, but maybe 90 would, but I don't believe you'll get 50 people to order."
So, I proposed we just set it up and see. Her answer was "No, we cannot hold credit card orders for months."
Soooo...the next idea is this. Here is this topic. Tell me if you'll buy 93, and for that matter 94 and 95. You have to specifically list the one(s) you will buy. If we get 100 people to say they will, we will set up a shopping cart item for it and let it cook for 7 days. If we get "enough" orders, it goes to press and ships a few days later. If not, all of the orders are allowed to expire without being processed.
So, tell me who is willing to buy 93, who is willing to buy 94, and who is willing to buy 95.
Mike West will transfer this whole post to the forum, and Jean will note it on Facebook, but please only "vote" one place, not multiple places. And to "vote" on the forum, you have to give me your real name. You can email me if you want to keep it private.

I bought 91 and 92. I love 92! NCD rulez.
I would buy Booster 93, but I am not interested in LTTs or tugs, so those two are out.
(BTW: I am playing in the FCOL War By Any Other Name campaign as a Kzinti. So here comes me buying boosters 6, 16 ( I think) and Line of Battle to round out my fleets. So my excess spending is up for this month).
Oh, my real name is Eric Phillips. Don't let my forum name fool you.

I would definately get 93.
94/95 not really. They are the sort of things I might find myself buying to keep my collection complete at some unknown point in the future, but of no immediate interest.
Can't understand why 92 isn't popular - drone ships and plasma D ships (known by some as 'escorts'), whats not to like.
NB - I'd not put in an order with ADB directly, I prefer a UK based seller.
