What about the Vulcans?
I've been curious about something: I know the Vulcans are a peaceful people who didn't develop a war fleet and that they are part of the Federation. But for such a prominant species they are almost absent from SFU, other than in Prime Directive of course.
Has anyone designed any Vulcan ships? It would be interesting to protect a Vulcan science ship from maurading Klingons.
Or did their fleet also get disbanded when the Starfleet was formed?

Also, since the SFU is linked to the main elements of TOS, there was at least one CA during the Y.150's that was crewed solely by Vulcans.
But your point is good. Even in TOS, the Vulcans showed a general predisposition toward their own scientific endeavors in lieu of Star Fleet. We would expect to see at least a few Vulcan scientific ships in the SFU.

The way it works in the Star Fleet Universe, all of the original member nations of the Federation originally had their own fleets. So, there was a Terran fleet, Vulcan fleet, Andorian fleet, and so on. During the Early Years, the "modern" Federation began to take form, and the member nations decided to disband their individual fleets in favor of unified Star Fleet designs. By the time of the Middle Years (Briefing #2) and the much later General War (the main game setting), this process had long since been complete.
So, you do have Vulcan ships, and Andorian ships, and Terran ships, and so on. They just all happen to be the Federation DN, CA, DD, FF, and so on.
The only time that member nations had distinct national fleets was early in the Early Years. As a result, the only time you will see "Vulcan" national ships is during those early Early Years. In SFB, this means they are present in Modules Y1, Y2, and Y3. In FC, they have not been introduced yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a higher than average percentage of Vulcan crewmembers on the survey cruisers; but then, I guess competition would be pretty fierce from every scientifically-minded Fed member species on those.
(As an aside, when it comes to the navies of other multi-species unions, I'd bet the Q'naabians might consider survey duty a high priority while serving with the Inter-Stellar Concordium Navy. Although, given that the SRs used by the Mæsrons are literally the same ships once used by the bat-like Wallimi prior to their accession, there are few prizes for guessing which species might dominate the Alliance's exploration wing!)
