Bunny'z Foray into SFB/FEDCOMM

Post by Nutterbunnyz »

My buddy recently game me an old boxed set of the 2300 SFB started set. Fed CA Klingo D7 n some tholians n the romulan.
Got all excited cause i played SFB with a few friends more than a decade ago. I prompltly orderd a detailed saucer section, Kit bash Kit #1, and 2 bags of Zocchi parts and went to town. I know nothing is painted yet, but it will be hence more research.

Your four-engine "heavy battle cruiser" with the Tug is actually a Battleship, and the pair of three-engine "battle cruisers" are actually Dreadnoughts.

Not a lot of contrast in the unpainted minis, but from left to right it looks like:
Top row:
Dreadnought, "Ship-1", Dreadnought
"Ship-1" appears to be a Federation Battlecruiser with two war engines mounted on top of the saucers. While this isn't an oficial design it does make an admirable stand in for a MAers class Battleship.

Middle Row:
Heavy Cruiser (CA), Heavy Cruiser (CA), New Heavy Cruiser (NCA), and Heavy Cruiser (CA)

Bottom Row:
"Ship 2", Destroyer, Tug, Destroyer, "Ship 3"
"Ship 2" appears to be a standard CA saucer with a NCA engine pack slung underneath and a set of old-style NCL engines mounted on top - but it makes an admirable stand-in for a Federation War Destroyer, as you suggest.
"Ship 3".., bot sure wat it is from the photos, but with the three engine set-up also functions well as a War Destroyer stand in.

I'm looking forward to seeing them painted up.
