New decals on the way...

Post by hobbybob »

Hey Kzinti fans!

I've added to the stable of Kzinti decals:

KZ1- BB, DN, CBH, CVS, TT
KZ3- CA/CM
KZ3- DDW
KZ4- Miscellaneous lines for frigates

These are printed on white film for better coverage.

The existing Kzinti decals are also available, on clear film:
KZ2- Ship names
KZ6- Clan insignia

In the works are window decals and starbases. The starbase strip will have Federation (in block and round text), Klingon, Kzinti, and Hydran lettering.

Additional Lyran Counties

Post by hobbybob »

Gary Carney (narroth) provided me with two additional Lyran county insignias...

I'd have the same issue with the white background on these, but if other colors were available...

Those were the last two from CapLog 25. In the text, they were "various colors", so you can make them any color you want Bob since that door is wide open.

If white backgrounds are an issue, I'd make the backgrounds yellow.

Those are not "county" insignia, but "independent squadron" insignia.

Yellow should work well.

As a side note, I've applied several of my new insignia on my Kzinti ships (painted Pactra "Leather," roughly a dark brick red-brown), and the coverage was excellent! I'll put some pictures up after the weekend.

Good news on the Pomroy Productions decal front!

Post by hobbybob »

Hi folks!
A burst of sales at the end of November, bolstered by selling off a bunch of modern & WWII microarmor on eBay, have made it possible to buy an ALPs printer! :D

Keep watching this space for updates!

Truly awesome news Bob. Once you are up-and-running with it, I'll definitely be talking with you about some contract-printing of my decal art.

New decals in development

Post by hobbybob »

Hi all!
I'm about to test my new decal strip of starbases (Fed block and round, Klingon, Kzinti, and Hydran). They look good on paper, but I need to put film to metal to make sure everything works.

I've also finished a draft version of windows and portholes, but I'm dubious of it. Again, testing will tell.

Stay tuned...

Bob is there anyway you could add the "exhaust port's" for the Fed Nacelle pylons?

Federation Nacelle Exhaust Ports

Are those the markings on the inside of the pylons? I don't see why not. I'll have to examine the Fed strips that have pylons to make sure there's room for them. I could add them to the strips when they fit, and add them to the "special/optional" decal page, too.

Yes they are the ones that are inside the pylons, they look like a row of four boxes on the topside of each pylon, they look more like vents. and puting them pn the optional page would be great (I still need to buy one of those :D

ALPs printer

Post by hobbybob »

My new ALPs printer has arrived! I've got a lot of work ahead of me in setting up, configuring, and testing it (who am I kidding? I'll have a lot of work just finding space for it!).

I'll post some pictures of finished decals & ships after the tests are complete. Goodbye white decal film!
