Can I Accelerate and Decelerate on the same impluse?
Example
Turn Mode 4
Speed 24
Facing A
1.0 Pay for Acceleration
1.1 turn Facing B move 1
1.2 Side Slip to C move 1
1.3 Decelerate
1.4 Side Slip to C move 1
2.0 Pay for Acceleration
1.1 Turn Facing C
etc etc etc.
Is this legal, or can you only Accelerate or Decelerate and not both?

It's not the size of your sensor array that matters.

However, note while that canceled movement from deceleration counts towards turn modes, it does not count towards side slips; so the example with
1.2 Side Slip to C move 1
1.3 Decelerate
1.4 Side Slip to C move 1
is technically illegal, any movement after 1.2 would have to either be straight ahead or a turn.
1.2 Side Slip to C move 1
1.3 Decelerate
1.4 Side Slip to C move 1
is technically illegal, any movement after 1.2 would have to either be straight ahead or a turn.
Good catch, Steve, missed that in his example.
That is exactly correct: decelerated moves do count for turn mode, but do not count for sideslip. Likewise, while you can do a turn on the sub-pulse of a deceleration, you cannot do a sideslip on the sub-pulse of a deceleration. (Mind you, I have no idea how someone would try to do that, but just sayin' ...)
