Miniatures problem for Prime Directive!!

Post by vburke »

I know I have been on Mr Cole for getting miniatures out for PD but I have started using action figures to scale for combat instead of minis. There is a scale in a d20 rpg book based on a galaxy far far away for using minis. I decided to use that instead of waiting then painting my way to madness. and the ST paper miniature maker on the web to me is a pain in the ***!!! Yes a near 40 year old playing with action figures is a "charming" site!

I meant there are rules in another book for using action figures not minis!

We use 1/32 or 1/35 figures for RPGs, they're about 3" tall, and you can get a lot of military-type figures in that scale.

Try Googling a company called Mega Minis. They make an excellent and very affordable set of 25mm metal minis of a sci fi crew, furniture and fixtures and aliens. The crew in particular is nice in that they are generic enough to be easily painted and/or modified to look like SFU and most other popular televised space operas of the past few years.

Here are some pictures of some of the figures I made using 1/35 WWII U.S. Army men purchased at a hobby store for $5.

I know the picture is not all that great, but you get the idea. All you need is some plastic glue and green stuff. I also used some dinosaur and zoo animal heads for the Gorn, Lyran, and Kizinti.

Grok rocks! Thanks I will be purchasing those on ebay and I will try Malleman's idea. Blurry picture but I totally get the point on being resourceful I will try if I have the time ( sorry no TARDIS present).

I'm going to try using some of these from Victory Force Games; For the Savage Worlds Prime Directive. Obviously they don't have the non-human races that we need though.

Here's some work on my Blog I've done with both the Mega Minis and Victory Force Miniatures.

I've also been doing some recent conversions using some Star Wars Miniatures and Heroclix recently.

More pics and tips on how I made the conversions here at my blog.
