Not sure the NCF should have the blue nacelle caps. Comparing the NCF and NCA, it looks like the engines are the same except for the NCF having a center engine the same size as the other two. I could be wrong though.
But it is a great looking figure!

Nope, they are supposed to be blue. They are "fast" engines even though they are the same number of boxes as the NCL/NCA engines.Wolverin61 wrote:Not sure the NCF should have the blue nacelle caps. Don't really see how they can be "fast" if they don't generate more power, so I guess they're higher-tech and therefore blue.mjwest wrote:Nope, they are supposed to be blue. They are "fast" engines even though they are the same number of boxes as the NCL/NCA engines.

First the fed ship photos look lovely nice one but i have done some of my ships markings and names by hand. has i read that starfighter ace was not doing decals for fed commander any more
if he still is can he still supply .
But going back to the hand painting i do have a fine detail for small models mainly 5mm figures.

Fast isn't just about producing more power. Fast has non-tactical attributes, too, that are important in the overall SFU, even if you can't see all of it in SFB or FC.Wolverin61 wrote:Don't really see how they can be "fast" if they don't generate more power, so I guess they're higher-tech and therefore blue.mjwest wrote:Nope, they are supposed to be blue. The engines on the CL, NCL, and NCF all produce 12 points of power, but all are actually different engines. The CL engines are "standard" engines. The NCL engines are "hot" engines. The NCF engines are "fast" engines. The are different even though all are 12 boxes.

Edifying. I assumed the engines on the NCL were more advanced that the old CL ones (hence the tiny nacelles on the original NCL mini), but I thought the only difference between the NCA and NCF engines is that the NCF has three twelve-box engines, whereas the NCA has two twelve-box engines and the third a six-box (what I refer to as "dinky") engine. Therefore, they'd both have the orange Bussard collectors, like the ones in this picture.mjwest wrote:The engines on the CL, NCL, and NCF all produce 12 points of power, but all are actually different engines. But I like the gas-flame blue, it does look fast. The next mini I acquire is going to be a CF, maybe a DNL but more than likely a CF.

As previously stated you can paint your minis anyway you want but according to the Cover Art of Booster#10 the Nacelles are now blue on the NCF.Wolverin61 wrote:Edifying. Think of it like this, the Fast Cruiser have a Overdrive in thier Transmissions and Crusing Gears in the Rear Axil. The Engine might still be a 350 but the performace goes up considerably.
