I still don't understand why the Romulans lost the PPT, it wasn't a huge thing in terms of games in that we only had a limited number, it doesn't slow down FC too much in that the plasma ballet is already a time consuming tactic anyway, and it helps force the enemy into wasting HETs and ...

Romulan ships, the ugliest ships in FC?

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the Romulan Star Empire. An empire obsessed with birds, could have made some much more elegant and beautiful ships than they did. Now, don't get me wrong, the Warbird and Kestrels design are very nice ships, but did the Praetor have all the old designer executed ...

Asteroids

I don't know if this has been answered, but I've seen asteroid maps in Romulan Attack, and have not seen any rules for them. Are their rules for them in Fed Com, and if there are, where are they at?

fed CA firing down the rear hex

don't know if this has been asked or answered, I see that the klingons have had their rear phaser arcs added, but did the Feds get theirs in as well?

Re: dance or race?

Thanks, Kor, but that does sounds more like a straight race.

After your first volley, you give up 4-8 hexes to turn away, depending on the angle of the first shots. Later there will be at least 8 hexes lost to bring all the distrupters to bear again (less if you are willing to fire one and the FX ...

About the FJ booster, which I would like to get, will we be seeing the 1" counters for those as well?

Looking forward to getting the Briefing.

directed damage and shield leak damage

Simple enough question, can I declare that I am targeting engines (or weapons) and still receive the result if all I get is a single leak point?

Using the standard D7 v CA fight, I can fire four disruptors and five phasers 1s while still having enough power to go 26. If the fed wants to keep up, he can fire six phasers 1s and hold four standard photons, and I am not scared of standard torps. If he wants to overload, he will have to slow down ...

in SFB, there are 1/3 and 2/3 movement cost ships. That didn't translate over to FC, so many ships that should be 1/3, get dropped to 1/4, which equates to extra power. Ships like the Fed and Kizinti FF come to mind. Kinda bugs me, but I guess they didn't want to lower their power curves after ...

seeking weapons and HETs

Quick question regarding seeking weapons and HETS (in case you didn't read the subject), I understand that a seeking weapon must HET if doing so would allow it to impact with it's target, but does this mean that it must HET for it's first move if it's target has gotten behind it. Meaning, in SFB, a ...

Hey Chuck, it's Nick. As to the tractor question, there was a ruling under the CRUL (in this forum heading) about using tractors to shove ships off map or into planets, it was stated that doing so breaks the tractor lock, to keep people from doing this very thing.

then to quote a federation captain, make it so. I have no problem using paper SSDs of D4s, Warbirds, and Fed CLs with our current counters for EY games. The same goes for pre-war SSDs of our current ships.[/i]

I would like to see early years done, and since FC is doing boxes for specific theatres of the "world" we play in, it seems it would be easy enough to put out a box of Feds (or Terrans, Andorians, and Vulcans), Klingons, and Romulans much like Distant Kingdoms or Klingon / Romulan Border. If it goes ...

This isn't your usual battle for a Klingon, Sabre Dancing against a Fed CA, in this instance yours is the ship with superior firepower. You're also performing convoy escort duties, so your first priority is to stay close to the freighters. This is probably the only time you don't want to be speeding ...

I've been playing SFB since 1980, and being old I will always favor the D7 over the D5. Now I have the last word.

[MOD: Yes, you do get the last word, which is why I modified your post, rather than added my own. The thread has served its purpose and is now closed.]
