Interesting. And different with the colorful accents.
The background is nice, but I think it detracts from the minis, due in part to the lighting and the black background (I prefer the pic you have on your photobucket page with just the minis). _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

I agree with Paul. I like the Dominator (or at least what can be made out of it) in the front, but the others just sorta fade into the background. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Much better contrast. Easier to see your nice paint work. _________________

Master, very good mini's I do enjoy the Dominator most of all! Are those decals or hand painted insignias on the minis?

I'm glad somebody could get something at our tiny scale out of that software.
I gave up and did mine in (Macromedia) FreeHand (software).

I would love to freehand..... but the freehand shakes too much, do to age and conditions beyond my control. _________________ Take all of it ........leave nothing to chance |

I was going to ask you experienced modelers in here.. if that system by Testor's worked very well with these small scales. I see (compared to other systems) that they are really cheap!... Master will that system work with some of the more difficult (more intriquete) like Federation decals? _________________ Take all of it ........leave nothing to chance |

Just to clarify, I did my decals in Macromedia FreeHand software (a drawing package similar to Adobe Illustrator, sadly no longer sold since Adobe bought out Macromedia).
I couldn't free-hand paint tiny details to save my life. How folks like Dale McKee do it is beyond my ability to comprehend.
Even with the "pro" version of the Decal Maker software, I struggled mightily to get it to do what I wanted. It's clearly geared to folks who do car and airplane modeling at much larger scales than we deal with. Trying to get it to do text in tiny font sizes like 1pt and such was maddening.
Some of that is the software, some of it is probably habits I have from using more "full blown" applications like FreeHand, Canvas, and the CAD programs I make my living on.
As scoutdad says, YMMV (Your mileage might vary). _________________

Thanks djdood I have no experience with those programs at all. My wife is the computer person in the family. She has a degree in graphics art. Yes I (from the little experience that I have) cannot fathom how some of these guys have a steady enough hand or patience to do some of these details on these tiny mini's I guess I'll just be happy with my meager abilities. And as far as my mileage (the warranty has expired long ago) _________________ Take all of it ........leave nothing to chance |

to all interested.
Let me start saying that decal maker in combo with anything is not perfect. You will always have problems with 1 pt font and others stuff. but for basic close to decals My only complaint is my own short comings . I am happy with the results working with figs that will be man handled and dropped. By me ! let alone people who do not care.
Take a look at my Photo bucket and my work represents all I do with Decal maker. I just wish I had a professional copier that printed white! , silver and more

ALPS printers (that do white, metallics, etc.) can still be had. They're just really spendy. _________________
