The Fifth Klingo-Kzinti War Campaign...

A project I'm working on for grad school has evolved into a reason for a new FC campaign and I'm building a system around using historical battles from the SFU, with each fleet from the various conflicts being set up based on the fleet lists from Federation Space. As my players are keen on Kzintis and Klingons right now, and we wanted something relatively short, I'm starting with the 2nd phase of the General War, the 5th Klingo-Kzinti War (Y169-Y171), which should take about 6 weeks to complete once we get started in a week or two.

I wanted opinions on the fleet lists. As I said, they're based on the FS lists, and there are two reasons for that: they're small and manageable; I own that game already. Where necessary, I've replaced ships that have no counterpart in FC (like the C9 or any carrier ships) with a single ship of relative similarity (the C8 for the C9, for instance) or two ships equal to the cost of the first (the carriers, which have the base cost and the cost of the fighters, for a ship of the same size and one a hull size smaller).

The rules are actually fairly simple, there is just a lot of nuance to cover hedge cases and provide fun options (like the Exploration tables). With a slight bit of trimming and rewording to remove the FC-centric elements and, and using the Operational Engagement rule as the main combat rules, you could have a serviceable little 1 hour wargame here.
