Origins Date Survey

As many of you know, Origins is moving the date of the con in 2012 and 2013. The Origins website has put up a survey about the date change. I would encourage all to fill it out (just a couple of questions and a space to write comments) and explain why their new dates are a bad idea (if indeed they are for you. Be polite, please.

For ADB, Inc. the new dates are pretty bad. Many of the people who make the events possible (judges, staff) are not available then. Many of the people who attend have children who are still in school. Without people running events and attending events, well...how do we have a presence?
Please make your thoughts heard.
Thanks for your time.

Done
Perhaps we should think about an Amarillocon or a FedCon or a Starfleet Unicon. We could camp out in the ADB warehouse.
Seriously though. I would attend such an event.

You know, that's a good idea! There could be tours of ADB and live question and answer sessions! I think sleeping in the warehouse is a bad idea, but group discounts at local hotels would be handy; using rooms for gaming and eating in their in-house restaurants to increase the hotel revenues. We would get to meet everyone at ADB; get to see Amarillo for the first time (I'm always big on seeing new places for the first time), probably pull in some of the guys from Colorado and points farther west, and even a lot of players from the mid-west. This could be good!

Over on the legacy BBS we have discussed this. It would be difficult as we aren't sure that we can hit critical mass. While we get great sales from the SFU folks, we still get some sales from new people who have seen a demo. In addition, many of the SFU people want to play other games, too.

There isn't a good solution for us.

I can't find any publicly accessible "results" page.
I filled this out (negatively inclined) and would like to see the % of folks that have said the change is bad for them.

We'd all like to see the results. More than a few people think they will rig the vote to come out their way.

The poll will just be the current attitude that shows up --
What will matter is body count at Origins next year --
Like SVC says about the poll, they will release numbers that are favorable to them ---

I hate to say this, but this is typical of management. Ignore the details and sweep on to the Grand Fallacy.
It happens so many times...and then they wonder why they didn't sell a certain item (obviously it is the sales managers fault) or why the employees voted for a union (the office people just didn't try hard enough to keep it out) or... or... or, but it is never their fault.
In other words, yeah, your right.
