News flash: Our first SFB Module for e23 has been released. YG3 is out! http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB5425

Module YG3 is a compilation of the annexes of the three Early Years products and incorporates all known corrections. The Master Ship Charts for all empires are consolidated and integrated for ease of reference.

Steven Petrick and his SFB Team worked very hard on this. It will be great for campaigns and for anyone who wants a quick index to the three Early Years products.

It is also available in hard copy from our storefront: http://store.starfleetstore.com/merchan ... ry_Code=NP

All rules have been integrated into a single continuous text, all errata has been incorporated, and some new clarifications have been added, The book also includes rules (S1.0) through (S8.0) and the (R0.0) rules.

I have to save up for this, but I'm really excited. I didn't realize when I first started buying and downloading content from e23 that you would get emails to let you know when the most recent version is available...for free! How cool is that.

It's truly the gift that keeps giving.

I've been interested in this, but it would probably replace work I've already done. I painstakingly scanned my 1991 vintage rulebooks into a single PDF along these lines (and then reprinted it in a single 1" binder, four pages on a sheet- superportable). I'd buy it if it's enough of an improvement.
1. Is there enough difference between 1991 and 2010 basic set/advanced/c-j-k-r-x module rules to be worth 50 dollars (is errata available elsewhere?)
2. Is the PDF printable?
3. Is it searchable?
4. Are there internal links?
5. What are the copy protections (I'd want to have a copy on my computer and one in my iPhone)?
6. Is it locked? Could I go back and edit it or link pages, etc?

1. A judgement call. I like the improvements and extra illustrations, personally.
2. Yes.
3. Yes... quite.
4. No.
5. None, nada, zip! [Steve Jackson's no DRM policy; yea!]
6. If you can do it to a PDF, you can do it to this. (I have made minor changes to mine successfully.)

Being able to search it is just plain awesome. Being able to look up a rule *anywhere* is awesome. (There's no download limit anywhere, so it you are at a computer, you can get to the rules!)

That's just what I needed to know. Took away one of my last excuses not to drop $50...

SFB Module C3A is now available on both e23 and our storefront.

Most SFB players do not realize that it was not until the Andromedans were defeated that Star Fleet finally figured out who they were, where they came from, and what they wanted. Four decades of battles against the Andromedans were based on battle reports, guesses, calculations, estimations, and (it was said) a Ouija Board. Star Fleet Intelligence (not to mention the intelligence services of other empires) was constantly issuing new guesses as to what Andromedan ships were in service and what new ones could be expected in the near future. Star Fleet Intelligence assumed that since other empires had improved their fleets with refits, new designs, old hulls expanded with new sections, alternative weapons, fighters, bombers, gunboats, and even X-technology, that the Andromedans would also make the same innovations.

This book includes a collection of these guesses, predictions, estimations, and extrapolations, presented as rules for new weapons and sixty new ship designs. It also includes the alternative timeline discovered by the Darwin, and the historical campaign by which the Andromedans destroyed the Lyran Democratic Republic.

If you buy this through e23, please don't forget to rate it!

I hope you enjoy this book. It was fun to proofread, but a bit scary at the same time.

The Peladine have hit the ebook wave! SFB Module E4 is now available. Please note that this is a playtest module and reports are appreciated.

http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB7104

Within the Lyran Far Stars Duchy is one of the also-rans of history: the Peladine Republic. Just as they were about to expand from their home system, the Lyrans conquered them. While they never became a power, their ships and technology were entered into the Lyran databases and used to train Lyran naval officers how to deal with the unexpected: in this case, ships armed not just with drones, but with plasma torpedoes which were immune to ESGs. This playtest pack presents the Peladine Republic making them available for testing under the Star Fleet Battles game system.

Included here are SSDs for 64 ships, from the police corvette to the battleship and four advanced technology ships. Conversion data for all generic units (starbases, monitors, etc.) are provided. Also provided are fast patrol ships, interceptors, fighters, and bombers to fully integrate the Peladine Republic as a campaign capable empire. Also included are a complete set of annexes, all in a 110-page book.

This is a playtest product; the empire needs testing. Reports should be sent to ADB, Inc. at rules@starfleetgames.com, for use in developing a formal product. Some "art" is not included in this playtest package.

Jean,

I keep getting a 404 when I try and access this page.
Sorry... was really looking forward to picking this one up, even though I have all the ships from when the old site was up. I've always liked this rather unique combination of weapons.

Any chance that the Peladine will be coming to FedCom soon?
