Certainly not to scale with each other or anything else, but good to see the market expanding.

Interesting. If the paint jobs end up being good (I'm sure they'll be at least adequate), then it will be like having the Galoob MicroMachines back.

I wonder what scale they are in. I see the Excelsior looks smaller than the refit Constitution, but I hear they have not finalized their scale.

My guess is that they may be comparable to SFB scale, maybe slightly larger. My thinking: wizkids uses 1.5" squares, FC uses 1.25" hexes.

If they are close it may kill off indies that make short production trek ships.

Or, on the other end of possibility, it could be like the Mechwarrior mini's- 'adjustable scale' mini's so that the 100 ton Atlas and the 55 ton Shadowhawk and the 35 ton Agromech are all roughly the same physical size so as to fit into the same space on the map better.

Yeah, that's called "box-scale" in the plastic modeling industry. The kit is scaled to fit the company's standard box and ends up being some bizarre unique scale (and not matching other kits in the same product line).

I'm hoping the paintjobs turn out well too. Or if not, then into the stripping jar they go to be repainted by hand!

If this does happen, those people will be back once WizKids drops the game in 2-3 years.

Well, i cant argue with that. My main problem with WizKids has been the rules. HeroClix is the lamest minis combat system around. The breakaway rule is completely stupid.

The biggest problem I had with WizKids was their lack of playtesting. By the time I quit playing Mechwarrior, the Rules FAQ (read:we didn't think about that when we released this figure) was 5 times the size of the rulebook that shipped with the game! They totally put me off CMGs.
