Anybody know if the two-pocket sheet protectors (MC50) here -

- will fit our SSD's? I'm pretty sure somebody posted this link here a long time ago but after 20 minutes of searching I can't find a reference to it. I'd like to know for sure the SSD's fit before I order since it's pretty expensive.

And if I do order them I may have some extras for sale, so stay tuned!

You said "SSD"'s (from SFB) but I'm assuming you're talking the ship cards. They fit FedCom ship cards perfectly and can hold up to 5-6, per pocket.

I sold half my box of 300 to two other guys in one of my play groups and that helped offset the cost. I feel I certainly got my money's worth with the Rabco protectors. They're nice and thick and don't tear out.

There are nifty little 5.5" x 8" sheets from Staples that work wonders. 25 to a pack for somewhere around 5 USD and can hold at least three per pocket.

Grab a couple of the small binders designed to hold them and viola! I have every card FedCom has produced stored in only five binders with ridiculously easy access.

I just picked up some of the Rabco deluxe (dual sided/four-pocket) protectors. The shipping's a little steep, because of the weight, but I think they're well worth the price.

Probably one of the best "hope for the best" internet purchases I've ever made.

Personally, I just use the aforementioned 5.5 x 8.5 binders and pocket sheets from Staples. They work great. I intentionally only put one per page (expect for duplicates) so I can see both sides.

The best part is that they are just there in the store. No mail order or anything. Just walk in and buy them.

I'd love to have the double stacked ones that Will uses, but that ship has sailed.
Having gotten in on Fed Comm from Klingon Invasion: Day One - I jumped on the Staples bandwagon immediately.

I currently have every box, booster, and expansion (multiples of some) - with each empire stored in its own half-sized binder. All ship cards are sorted (alphabetically by counter designation) and inserted into half-sized sleeves. One class of ship per sleeve to enable viewing of both the front and the back.

At this point, there's too much invested in the current storage solution to look for an alternate one.
Unless somebody on this forum wants to buy all of my binders and sleeves in one lot...

That totally makes sense, especially with how far you're into FC. Clearly, there is more than one solution to the storage problem .

I'd prefer the approach of storing my SSD on my SSD.

Upload form-fill enabled PDF's onto a solid state drive on a tablet so that I only have to carry around my Surface instead of binders full of material, lol. A click or a tap would mark a box, a stylus could add notes. It'd be sweet.

I know there's an effort and security problem with electronic versions of things, though.

Possible security solutions could include adding a watermarked name and email address onto every page of the PDF along the top. People with a program like Adobe Acrobat could still edit that though, sadly. But hey, at least they had to spend a few hundred bucks to facilitate their damned piracy. Aside from that there might be encryption solutions, but that's past my technical expertise, lol.

As for effort - that should be fairly simple. Assuming you have the original documents available in some sort of word processor file, you could probably save directly as a PDF. If only hard copies, an automated scanner/feeder could wrap that up for you within a few hours/days depending on how much product needs moving.

Just a thought, though, really. Technically speaking there's nothing stopping a customer from archiving their things electronically with their own equipment.

In the mean time, sheet protectors do work wonders

Many of the ship cards are available for paid pdf download from webstores like warehouse 23, Driveby RPG, etc.

Most ship cards are available to download as pdfs from the Commander's Circle on this website. Cards in issues of Communique are in black and white, but that does nothing to inhibit their playability.
