Does anyone have any comments?
Late to this discussion but does e23 watermark the PDFs it creates?

Wargame Vault creates watermarked files so if someone uploads them you can easily see who did so.

The copy of Captain's Log 41 Supplemental I bought doesn't have a watermark. Don't know about Briefing#2 ships yet.

No, e23 does not watermark the downloads.

Thanks for the reply Dan. I'll look out for the Border of Madness book, as and when...

It's good to know I won't need to buy (yet another) Destroyer model - Although it would be a nice excuse. I have a soft spot for the old Destroyer for some reason, and have far too many of them! Heh.

And Kudos to you for recognising the name. :D :D

I don't know if this is exactly the right spot to ask this, but since we are discussing them... I only play FC and am not up to speed with absolutely every different configuration established over the years of SFB (Although I'm getting there).

If someone here would be so kind, can you spell out for me what is "special" about the Destroyer Escort? I gather it loses some photon torpedoes for extra phasers and drones, but can you give me specifics?

Any information appreciated. :D

And yet, S1 and S2 were probably the worst selling SFB products of all time.

The big thing about the DE is the gatlings. People don't want them for carrier escorts; they want them for close combat killers.

So they use it as a Gunboat Destroyer? :D

(sorry, I'll get my coat).

It's an anomaly that some escort classes are more dangerous in combat than the 'standard' hull type. That applies to the Fed DDE and most of the Hydran gatling - armed escorts.

That's why their use has to be controlled by deployment limits, along with things like command variants (shudders at remembering a munchkin fleet of Gorn DDLs from wayback).

There is an error in the Briefing #2 Ship Pack D PDF file.

While listed as included, the Kzinti Police Cutter (Card #F228) is missing. There are only eleven ships in the PDF.

I have reported it to SVC and Leanna. With e23, I understand you will have access to the updated file (as soon as Leanna finds out what happened).

Thanks for letting us know to check on it and we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Yes. It is my understanding that buyers always have access to the latest version of the file provided they are registered with e23.

As an aside, there was nothing in the PDF file that indicates where to report problems. It is not clear whether you should use the normal ADB customer service e-mail address or some other e-mail address for the e23 products.

Thank you.

Jim, we're new to doing the PDFs. Is the "place to report errors" something commonly included in the PDFs? Or do they assume that you'll do exactly what you did here and go to the source?

Thanks for helping us on this!

I am new to e23 as well.

It wasn't clear where to report problems because I am assuming the direct retail transaction is between the customer and SJ Games rather than between the customer and ADB. So, I was not sure whether using the normal support e-mail address might create some confusion.

However, I did find a FAQ on the e23 site that said that if the e23 product is not published by SJ Games, there should be contact information for reporting errata in the PDF itself. When I looked through the PDF I found the links at the end for the adverstisements, but there was nothing in the PDF file telling me where to send an e-mail to report a problem or errata associated with the PDF file.

Thanks! I've sent that on the SVC and Leanna as well.

I was wondering about this last night. That's great!
Haven't got C & D yet, I was waiting for E & F to get them all together.

Now the reason I was wondering was the Consolidated Rulebook. I was thinking about picking it up, but thought it'd be ideal for e23. And if the errata could be included in the file and the e23 file updated (whenever there were new corrections) then we could just download and print again.
Just to be clear, I wouldn't expect you to include rules from W&P in it (though if you decided to that'd be FtW), as it's a later product.
