The lizard girl rubs her shoulder blade where she got phased and then says, "No hard feelings. I'll go arrange transportation while you guys shop for gear. I'll meet you at North Gate in... two hours...?"
She starts to leave....
[Oops... looks like you *aren't* going to shop for gear? Maybe just mooche off of Captain Jack? If so... you can all go along with her maybe.]

Captain Jack won't have enough for all of us. Skexis goes to buy supplies suitable for a beast and a pack to carry them in.

Marcus says to the Reptile lady, "You shouldn't go alone. Everytime we make contact with someone they wind up dead after we leave their side. I'll go with you." Throwing Captain jack his credit chip. "Buy what you think I will need."

"Not a problem," says Captain Jack, "You saved my neck, Marcus, picking up a few things is the least I can do..."
Captain Jack leads the rest to the local outfitter and buys "standard" things that we need.
Captain Jack also wonders to himself why this wasn't the first time he had a female with a knife to his neck, and thankful he didn't have to shoot this one, this time. {Mental Internal Voice} "Why does this keep happening to me? {/Mental Internal Voice}
[OOC] GM Jeff, let us know if there is anything special that we should get that anyone who spent a few years on Donjebruche and has been to in the desert a few times before would have learned to bring. [/OOC]

Captain Jack and Skexis go shopping.
Marcus is escorting the lizard-girl to the place o' transportation.
And Fred is...?

Skexis buys food suitable for his species, water containers (and water if it isn't readily available), a bedroll, a pack, eye protection, and footwear to protect his feet from the hot sand. The young female shopkeeper looks frightened of him so he slouches, purrs, and tries to go for more cute kitty than ferocious beast.

Marcus will go Bobdy gaurd mode and keep a look out for trouble. he will stay close to the lizard lady entering any buildings before her and checking things out. He will try to cover her with himself as much as possible.

Hmm...
[One roll for *Marcus Kane*... one for something else... (3d6=13, 3d6=9)] Marcus has kind of a funny feeling... but he can't quite put his finger on anything specific. [Body guard mode is on... and with good reason.]
The shopkeep tries to sell Skexis an epic Stillsuit.
[11 or less Area Knowledge (3d6=6)] Skex doesn't fall for it but gets a reasonable selection of standard survival gear suited to his biology. [Nice call on the footwear.]
Edit: [Still waiting on Fred-- but GM assumes he's hittin' the egg nog right now

]

Marcus will be on extra guard and try to hurry the female along. "I've got a bad feeling about this. Please hurry."

[Hmm... Fred never showed up over the holidays. Referee rules that he went shopping with the rest of the crew.]
Marcus is on guard, but hurrying across the streets of Donjebruche back to the nomad quarter.
[One roll for Marcus (at a small penalty)... one for something else...! (GM snickers as he rolls dice behind his screen, but he did leer at the Marcus record sheet before he did....) (3d6=9, 3d6=11)]
Marcus's bad feeling... uh... dissipates... momentarily. [Marcus seems to feel that hurrying has turned out for the best... perhaps...!]
The lizard-girl takes him to arrange transport. She picks out several riding lizards for the group. By the time she's done, Captain Jack & Fred & Skexis show up with their gear.

"No time like the present, let's go..." comments Captain Jack.

Marcus says,"We need to hurry. I have a suspicision something is about to go down. I don't want to be here when it does. Captain Zack...You want to pack up the lizards? You guys keep an eye on her." As he thumbs at the Lizard lady. He will walk a few feet away and scan the area for trouble.

Everyone mounts their gigantic riding lizard... and you all disappear into the desert.
The lizard-girl seems to know her way around. She helps you avoid the naturally occurring (and deadly) sand-traps. She also charts her course so that you make it to a couple of oases to load up the animals on good water.
Evening time approaches and you seem to be nearing the camp... where she claims her brother Rokerig should be...

Marcus is checking for ambush.
[Perception 12 or less (3d6=12)]
Marcus spots one lizard-man by a pile of rocks near the camp. He seems to be on guard and not any threat to the party.
Marcus surveys the locale...
[Tactics 11 or less to gain an advantage in any potential combats in this location... (3d6=9)]
... and he begins to get a notion of what needs to happen if there's any trouble here.
[Marcus, if there's anything from the rules that you'd like to try in a rocky desert location like this, then feel free to be creative with whatever edge you'd like to have-- if something... uh... happens where you actually need this, of course.]
...
The lizard girl takes you into the camp.
The riding-lizards are tied up near the camp's edge with several others.
Dusk is falling....
Rokerig is glad to see his sister, but his sister is especially glad to see that he's still alive. He and she are deep in talk in their native tongue.
You guys are welcome to chill out and have fresh sand worm steaks in a bit here....

Marcus says to Capt Jack,"Ok so we found this Rocky guy...you talk to him while I check the area out. I am not going to get jumped again! If you need me to relay any info of my encounter with Tarsh's killers come get me."
OOC: what is the terrain like? Hilly? Flat? Is there some high ground where they can hold up if they get attacked? where is the most likely location for an ambush to happen? Basically he is looking to use the terrain to his advantage. Are there enough rocks to stack up to provide cover for people to squat or lie behind that he and perhaps 2 others can start gathering to make small walls?
