Sometimes ADB will sell bags of so-called "factory rejects" which are ships which didn't quite fit the bill in terms of quality. I bought quite a few of these bags last year or so, and they were an incredible bargain of like a bag of 10 ships for 10-15 USD. I picked up about 5 of these and have used them for the core of my fleets, thereafter adding full-priced, better quality ships to the mix to fill them out.

The only downside to the bags, other than quality was that the variety was not always there (though I did get them rather late, after all the good pickings were gone). But that's really looking a "gift horse in the mouth" if you know what I mean. And hey, as a Klingon player I don't mind have 15 D7s anyway ('side if I just file off the wing phasers I get a D6!).

I don't know if that's something ADB will ever do again, I think that they sell these bags at Gencon or Origins, but via mail order I don't think they do it very often.

When the P65 crisis started SVC said on the Legacy Bored that the Factory 2nd have most likely gone the way of the Dodo. Because the price of Tin skyrocked and does not appear to be coming down the 2nds are most cost effecient being returned to the Caster and recycled. So I doubt we will ever see them again.
