All I can say is that turn 10 was awesome!

Hello, here are the results from turn 10.

POLITICAL:

the TSE offered production rights to all gas giants in thier territory that are discovered for the Kzinti to use. the Kzinit accpeted this rather generous offer and in return surrenderd a large freighter for the TSE who are tryingt to rebuild thier merchant marine fleet (as you may or may not remember all the key empires have pretty much lost all of thier freighter fleets to raiders from turn 5 through turn

The Federation offered the Orions a unique treaty, the federation has a huge economy but they cannot get to over 50% of it due thier freighters all being taken out of action by raiders. so the Federation is offering the Orion Pirates 1/3 of thier merhcant production if the orions will build and fly the freighters that move this vast amount of Produciton points. The Orions accepted...this was a great and brilliant move on the part of the Federation player.

The TSE offered the Gorn a miliary treaty the gorn accpeted, the Romulans were outraged and condemmed the move on the part of Gorn and the TSE.

The TSE then sent for the first time a high level ambassador to meet with the Federation, they were allowed to meet with the federation counsel. the TSE High Imperial Minister Valakar, a Vulan of the mirror TSE was sent to speak on behalf of the Empire. the TSE in short offered the federation a chance to join in militray alliance with them and end the war if the Terran element of the federation surrenderd to the TSE ( the TSE has an issue with the human leadership and population) the Federation said they would vote on this. The Romulans and the Kzinti at this time raised huge opposition to this and promised to move to war if this alliance was allowed to continue, The Oriona also voiced strong concern over this but did not indicate what the repurcussions would be at this time.

The Federation approached the Romulans, saying that they felt that it would be inevitable that they will eventually fall to the TSE and asked the Romulanss for aid, actually going so far as to open thier borders to allow for Romulan ships to operate in theri territory and fight the TSE, Romulans gave no indication of whether they would accpet of decline.

The Gorn attempted to bring a neutral zone proposal to the Lyran Government, the Lyrans declined, merely stating to respect the border or suffer the consequences. (excerpt from the roleplaying scene) The Gorn HDD Sword of Sardith is sent to teh Lyran border to establish communication with the Lyran empire, they are running at impule speed, and begin to beam transmission communications into Lyran space, as they are doing so an area of space some 500,00 kilometers away begins to distort and and tear, then a Lyran CA slides out of the rent in space from the Warp, The HDD reports the CA has weapons powered, shields up and disruptors powering, the Lyran CA then suddelnly is enveloped in a field of energy that is like a nuclear blaze of controlled fire that wraps around the ship and projects away from it, even from here the Gorn science station on the HDD can detect the power of the ESG, the Gorn captain a veteran of many battles with teh Romulans calls for General Alert and sets the ship to fight if necessary, shields go up and massive power is transferred tot he plamsa weapons............

The Klingons were absent from the diplomatic scene this turn as they re-diverted ships to deal with the Deathprobe.

Federation: 1CC, 1CDN, 6 defense satellites total fleet strength is at 26 warships

EXPLORATION:

many new planets were discoverd one of note was in federation space on the Kzinit border a huge gas giant named Solast Prime.

also the TSE discoverd a wormhole that they sent the a TSE FF through, on the other end? the Klingon Empire!!!!! and at the same time that system was being explored by a Klingon F-5!!! both ships went to action stations, shields went up weapons went hot and a battle will be following!

RAIDS:

raiding activity was evelated from the last turn.

in total 11 ships raided different empires, including the romulans using their light raiding DN against the Gorn and the Kzinit using thier Light raiding DN against the Federation.

total losses, where 45 prodution on the federation, and 15 production from the gorn.

BATTLES: In a supris emove the Federation while they were still voting on the TSE proposal attacked and invaded teh TSE with two fleets, also the Kzinit Theocracy attempted to liberate the pilgrims on the planet Solast Prime, they had raided there and when the Federation sent no escort or patrol ships to stop the raiders the Kzinti determined that the federation was unworthy to hod this valuable planet. they sent a Kzinti fleet the federtaion at this time did repsond in force, the Kzinti wisely backed down from a superior Federation fleet, and returned across thier borders.

The federation invaded the TSE in 2 places the order of battle is as follows, in both battles the federation has Orion Mercanaries helping them, the ROmulans are secretly funding the mercanaries, they hired a Br and LR with funds form the main orion body then they offerd the Pallida-mors cartel the Romulan KR cruiser Legion of Steelfor the use of 3 cartel BR's to join in the battle, the orions accpetd on all accounts.

the first battle is in a TSE lvel 5 system

Federation ships: 1xbcg, 2xncl, 1xdw, 1xseltorian ff, 3xbr (orion)

TSE defenders: 1xBB, 4xNCA, 1xNCL

the second atack is in a TSE level 6 system that has web defense from a tholian Webtender.

Federation forces: 1xCC, 2xDW, 1xseltorian NCA, 1xSeltorian CL, 1xorion CR, 1xOrion LR

TSE Forces: 1xDNG, 1xDN, 1XNCA, 2XNCL

The Klingons are engaging the Deathprobe:

Klingon Empire forces: 1xB-10, 2XC-7, 1XD-5W, 1XD5D, 1XD-6M VS the Death Probe.

TSE VS Klingon (in battle over the Wormhole, the TSE is claiming it as thier territory the Klinongs says it is thiers....not good)

TSE 1xFF, VS Klingon 1xF-5

these should be very good battles!! excellent roleplaying and diplomacy.

to give an example of how this looks on a given night, we started at 7pm, we finished at 1AM for one turn, with from 7-1045 being roleplaying, diplomacy and intrigue!!!!! very fun, the players really get into running thier empires.

The TSE player actually dressed the part (minus the ears), with a black pants, black cloak, wolf-headed cane, and a black/red federation top with the TSE symbol (sword piercing the Earth) over the right breast.

The TSE Vulcan raised his left hand, fingers spread, and greeted the Federation Council, "Live fast and conquer".

hello, I have had a few emails come across to me asking about the campaign, and why no poasts recently. Sorry for the delay, we have taken 2 weeks off before resolving turn 10, that and i have my 13th wedding anniversary on that game weekend.

Thanks for the continued interest. rule set 1.40 is in solid development.

The war between the Federation and the Terran Star EMpire is anbout to enter a new level as the two mighty western powers bring major fleet elements into two critical battles.

Last turn you may have read that the Federation launched an attack on the TSE during negotitions with the TSE vulcan diplomat.

the TSE responded to the two assaults with the full might of thier Federation border fleet. at this time an interesting development occurs, the Romulan government watching from a distance, and quietly though vehemently opposed to Terran Star Empire designs in the Alpha Quadrant, payed for orion mercanaries to ahelp to assist the attacking federation forces, the initial federation attacks while formidible did not equal the defensive power of the TSE.

so next friday the contest between these two powerful adversaries begins, here is the run down of the orders of battels for each engagement and in each case not only ships are in the line of danger but also the valuable production of two TSE level 6 systems.

Federation fleet and Allies:

terrain in this sex consists of a tholian globular web 16 hexes, with a web tender startingpower of the web is 130.

The TSE arranged this last campaign turn as part of the Tholian armistice, 2 Tholian Web tenders working in TSE space on the federation border to provide for "castles"

ok, my bet is on the Terran Star Empire for the first battle and a close federation victory on the 2nd battle, ( which I think will be the bloodier of the two fights)

I think the federation will lose the

BCG, and a NCL and the Terrans will lose nothing maybe the NCL for battle #1

battle #2 the federation will lose the CC, DW, and Sel NCA

The Terrans will lose almost all thier ships.

the inclusion of the Orions is nasty and will add a nice degree of flexibility.

also we are so excited the Hydrans and the Lyrans and The Wyn are now going to be active empires in our campaign...we of course are looking for maybe one more player in the sac/sf area.

The commodore of the federation fleet felt the vibrations of his ship the Batlecruiser Revolution as the vessel took fire from the TSE NCA Genocide. the Commodore had just witnessed the NCL Reliant explode in the dark of space as she took heavvy fire from more than 3 TSE NCA's. The Commodore remembered the words of TSE Admiral Eamon Valka of the ISS Regime. "there will be no quarter given or asked, your lives, your ships they are forfeit, prepare to die"

the USS Revolution had just fired all weapons into the massive BB, and supporting her fire was the NCL Reliant, which had just been destroyed, also the Seltorian FF Hornet fired in support. the TSE BB was burning, her hull ripped by fire, atmosphere and the frozen contorted bodies of TSE naval personell jetted into space through the unnatural breaches caused by the heavy weapons of the BCJ and support ships.

The BB turned, and then locked weapons, the deflector si gnal chimed on the bridge of the Revolution as the ships computers detected the weapons bearing on the flagship, then the bridge lit up with fire......the rest of the federation fleet heard over the open battle frequencies, the sudden scream of 600 federation men and women on the Revolution, then all was silent, and the there was the coldness of space.

the battle reports started coming into Federation star fleet command:

......fleet engaged with the TSE....the enemy have brought the BB, 1 ncl and 4 NCA, our own fleet under the command of Commodore ALexis in the BCG USS revolution with 1 NCL, 2 DW, 1 seltorian FF and three ORion BR, have engaged....and lost the battle.

we have heavily damadged the TSE NCA Raver, and the BB Regime. but we have lost the BCG Revolution and the NCL Reliant with all hands, one DW and the Seltorian FF and one Orion BR have taken heavy damage.

the battle is over, the remenants of the fleet are warping back into UFP territory.

The Admiral reviewed the report..........and spoke into the darkness of his private command office. "we have one more hope, our other strike fleet.....may we be graced by the fortune of war, adn may we find a seat of favor"

Wow , Commodore Mendez, you predicted the outcome of the first battle of the TSE vs FEderation with almost 100% accuracy (see Commodore Mendez's Post), see the battle resutls on the previous post to see how accurate the commodores prediction was.

My campaign is moving along quite well, I have 3 players, we are using only 4 powers (Gorn, Federation, Kzinti and Tholian) plus the orion rules, it is working very very well.

there is a battle raging between the Federation and the Gorn that is the bloodiest of conflicts, so far both sides have lost 5 ships each.

By the way I play other space conquest games, (the names of which I will not name here) and this campaign adaptation is very very good.

Weel tonight the players gather agin to decide the fate of more ships.

we have two battles to be fought:

1. the KLingongs vs. the Deathprobe, we get to see the very first use of a B-10 in the campaign.

2. a TSE FF VS. a KLingon F-5 this battle will be very interesting in strategic importance as both frigates are fighting over the new found Mephisto's Wormhole which links both empires together, though both empires are on the opposite sides of the galactic map.

3. also from the previous battles with the TSE and Federation I will be giving out victory points

DSF Prime Admiral Tozgrath, Supreme Military aid to the Chancellor of the KLingon Empire waited as the Paladin of the Empire, Hoh-Gratoth was admitted into the ante-chamber to debrief him on the recent military operations of the Klingon Fleet...... The Paladins dead looking eyes betrayed nothing of the information he was about to impart to the Admiral.

......The admiral filled another glass of Jokh'a, and his mood was good, almost jubilant. so he thought, the Klingon cnetral fleet, under the flag of the Empires single B-10 Battleship, fought and engaged the Deathprobe, they had brought cold revenge to the Deathprobe!! no casualties! and the deathprobe is destroyed. the loss of the C-5 Light Raiding Dreadnaught a month earlier when they fought the Deathprobe in Romulan Territoiry has been avenged., the treacherous Romulans will not be forgiven for placing thier allies in a position of defeat, though they will be praised for allowing the Klingons to die with honor in battle.

Also the F-5 Seeker fought and engaged a new powerful adversary, in the northern reaches of the empire the Mephisto's wormhole was opened and a Terran Star Empire Frigate appeared, our own F-5 was exploring the system when the ISS ship came out of the wormhole...Foolish of the Terrans to say this was thier space,,,they are not used to Klingons. Theyare used to fighting the old sick man of the galaxy the United Federation. Phah! they now have fought and Lost to a true opponent. The F-5 suffered major damage but in the end destroyed the TSE Frigate.

Though....we must ponder, our enemy fought to the last, no quarter was asked, no communications, just weapons went hot, then the ISS frigate went into battle against us. they fought with tenacity......Though, they will find no victory here!

The Admiral was interrupted in his thoughts, by a comm light chiming. The Admiral answered, Yes! a voice came across the link... Admiral we have been informed that the Terran Star Empire is just now receiving word of the loss of their Ship....The chancellor has ordered all Klingon ships in high alert, we are waiting to see thier response.....

As am I said the Admiral, as am I!

overall an excellent night of battles with victory points now disperesed for all three fights (including the TSE VS Federation battle)

the KLigon F-5 Seeker received 20 VP!!

The klingon fleet (1XB-10, 2xC7, 1XD-5W,, 1XD5D, 1xD6M) all received 18 VP

The TSE fleet in the previous battle each received 20 VP for their victory and the surviving Federation and Orion ships each received 3 VP.

there is one battle left to conclude turn 10.

ALso the Hydrans and Lyrans have entered the game as have the WYN. I will post thier starting fleets after this.
