Thanks much for the offer, Bolo.

However, I too have a big stash of spare parts, built up since 1985 :)

Some other mini-maker might be able to benefit from your generosity though.

Very nice work. I've finally gotten my 3 squadrons all assembled and started some base coating. Hopefully I can post a picture or two by Saturday.

I didn't have any problems with my Feds, but my Battle Hawk was rough, large air bubble in the nacelle and the wing leading up to it was thin and bent and the tail fin was thin pretty much seperated. But a little green stuff should make it look decent.

I might mention that Matthew at Mongoose was mumbling something about a "black-painted fed squadron" and perhaps might enjoy seeing Federation squadrons in unusual paint schemes that reflect the dynamic personality of the squadron commander and the daring and boldness of the supply officer in ordering 50-gallon drums of paint.
For some reason, I got an image of the USS Sea Tiger... :D

Reminds me of a sci-fi story where a supply commander had a few ships to repair and a lot of paint in the fast-sprayer. He circles the ships round and round, repainting them with each loop, to put his massive fleet on display to the invaders. When th bad guys lost count, the went home thinking "there's no way we can fight that fleet".

I have to say your pictures just sold me on the blue nacelle tips. Those are awesome.

I have to admit that Operation Petticoat came to mind when Matthew first mention odd paint schemes.

gold paint on the nacelle first, then cover with a clear blue paint. adds a bit of sparkle. i saw a post from someone else a while back and decided to try it. we liked it so much its our standard. not shown are the green rommies with red tips but using the same paint trick.

Well, these are not one-off schemes or anything, but here are a few ships from the squadron boxes I have received over the past few days.

First up is a mixed squadron of Klingons and Romulans. A D7 leads a D6 and a KR. I am impressed that there are differences between the D6 and D7 now, and not just shaving off the wing phasers. Even more than just the paneling is the detailing on the (cooling vents?) on the deckhouse and slight differences in the shape of the rear hull (especially the underside).

Now a couple of the Romulan ships (the Condor is on the table because I need to drill out the hole for the stand).

The C8 is a beast in the new 2500 line. Check this out!

My poor old eyeballs did not see some of that red over paint around the red vents on the deckhouse, but I have cleaned that up since :? . Also, there were several vertical pieces missing from the impulse engines. Rather than try and rebuild those, I cleaned up what was there, made them symmetrical and painted what I had.

A size comparison between a 2400 F5 and a 2500 F5.

And Squadron Box #2 completed and ready for battle!

Nice job on those. It's been neat to see some of these ships with paint on them, after all those months of renderings.
