The only Franchise references to silk I can find are listed here; the only one which seems to have a reference to Quark is the page for Andorian silk.

Was there another episode in particular you were referring to?

(I'm not trying to be awkward; I just want to clarify the matter.)

I will go back and watch all the episodes of DS9 on Netflix and tell you where he said it, but there are 7 seasons to watch and it might take some time to figure out what episode/season it was where he said it.
