I totally agree (No offense, Adam!). I made the torps as holes in the hull:

Okay, the forward hull is mapped, now for the after hull and the underside... Then I'll move on to the secondary hull for the NCA (Which I'll do in a different thread :D)

Nice work. I like the "fans" in the engine domes - not everybody does that.

Thank you! :) This is a lot of fun! :D

Okay, the powerplants are up!

I still need to do the underside of the hull... and the back (After-hull) but I'm a little confused: where are the shuttlebays? On Franz Joseph's design (At least on the McMaster blueprints), the shuttlebays are under the saucer... but I have a feeling they are in the after-hull on the NCL/NCA... Am I right?

Well, ... there are two answers to that.

Answer #1: The impulse engines are in a housing under the saucer. The shuttle bay is immediately above where the impulse engines would be in the DD/CA saucer. This is how the 2200/2300/2400 series miniatures show it.

Answer #2: The impulse engines are in the same location as where they are on the DD/CA. The shuttle bay is in the housing structure between the warp engines. The bay door is in the curved surface on the back of that structure. This is how the new 2500 series miniature will show it. For reference, take a look at the pictures here.

Either one is "correct".

Wow... I guess I never knew there was so much debate over this :D Thank you! I guess since I have already put the impulse housing on the dish (Ala regular CA's), then I'll go for the shuttlebay on the upper hull piece (Like Sandrine has it).
