Just finished a mightily fun base attack game with my two sons and one of their friends! We had a great time, but did notice one issue cleaning up.
We have been playing for the last six months or so, and have been doing fine with wet erase markers. I prefer them over dry erase as the kids seem to end up removing a lot of marks accidentally with the dry erase pens.
All the wet erase ink cleaned up fine except off of two ships, and I noticed the lamination on these two ship cards is sort of "matte" compared to the others. Looking through my other ship cards, a lot of them seem to be this way. When I clean these matte ship cards with water, the marks lighten somewhat, but are still clearly there.
Is there a problem with some of the ship cards or is this intentional? Do I need to switch to dry erase?
Wet Erase Woes

We've [Battlegroup Murfreesboro] been using our Fed Comm cards on a regular basis since Day 1 and have had no issues.
We started out using Vis-a-vis brand, wet erase markers. They erase completely with just water.
Although a couple of years ago I did find nine boxes of Expo brand, fine point, dry erase markers in the clearance aisle at Walmart. Yes - they are all green markers, but it was NINE BOXES of 12 markers each for $1 a box!
