Armed Cutter

Post by Steve Johnson »

Was looking through the errata over the weekend to verify changes made to the ships in the rule book, and noticed that on the Gorn and Romulan versions of the Armed Cutter, it said to replace the drones with Plasma Torp-D. Would this be one one launcher or two? The drones on the Cutter were turreted and 2 AD. Wasn't sure if it would be one Pasma-D with a Fore arc, or two Plamsa-Ds with one F,P and one F,S.

Plasma racks replace Drone Racks one for one.

Personally, I would say the Plasma-Ds are still turreted. As I recall, the Plasma-Ds are basically drone frames with a plasma warhead, so I don't see why you couldn't leave them turreted.

I've done some playtesting using a pair of Armed Cutters, and while they are VERY fragile, if one ignores them, they can inflict a painful sting to some unwary warship.

In Federation Commander terms, Pl-D racks always have a split RS/LS (right side/left side) arc. Don't know what that means in ACTA, but there you have it.

I have it on good authority that "if" a revised version of ACTASF were to be released - this will be clarified as a PH / SH pairing of Plasma-Ds ;)

And hopefully good authority will correct the phaser arcs on the Klingon D5?

Posting a question about the D5 in the armed cutter topic is a good way to make sure it never gets answered, but I am told by Tony that he is going to recheck EVERY ship.

We actually toyed with converting to 60 degree arcs but felt that ACTASF players were too entrenched into 90 degree arcs for that to be workable, so we didn't. Who knows, maybe someday we might do a set of 60 degree cards for people to consider as an optional rule.
