Federation Commander at Geekway to the West?

Hello, in May I will be attending Geekway to the West in St. Louis for the first time. Are there any other Federation Commander players who will be in attendance? If so, want to play a game?

I have had luck with the scenario from Klingon Border that involves rescuing colonists from a planet. I always take the rescuing ship, and give the new player the other ship.

Unless the new player is dead set on playing the Federation I give them the Klingons so they do not have to worry about pre ...

How to win the Cassini Incident?

I played the Cassini Incident scenario (8TR6 in Transports Attacked for Federation Commander and SH84 in Module S1 for Star Fleet Battles)

I am interested in any tips for the how the Federation could win that scenario. With keeping the pods, the Klingons will always outrun the Federation, and while ...

Federation Commander at Gen Con

Hello, I wanted to let everyone know that I am running a couple of Federation Commander Events at Gen Con.

There will be a scenario game entitled "The Federation Strikes Back". Here is the description: "Federation cruisers attempt to break through a Klingon siege on a starbase. Massive fleet ...

I voted commando ships. I would really like those ships because having them would open up cross game play Federation Commander and Star Fleet Marine, which I find interesting.

I did buy reinforcements attack. While I liked getting new ships, I would rate it near the bottom of the Federation Commander expansions. My issues were two fold. First, I was not too big on the booster packs containing new ships as well. I liked the more optional nature of the booster packs that ...

Which System to go with?

I am looking at getting back into role playing with Prime Directive . My question is which system do I go with: GURPS, D20, or wait for Traveller?

I do not have any experience with any of the systems. The vast majority of my role playing experience is from GMing Star Wars campaigns using the West ...

They come with their own pegs that attach to the ship, so it should not be all that hard to get that peg attached to the hex base somehow.

I am not sure how feasible though using Attack Wing for Federation Commander will be, especially if you are picky. For starters only two ships now correspond ...

Hand full of questions from someone new(ish) to SFU

Hello,

I have been playing Federation Commander fairly regularly for a little over a year. One of the things that I find most appealing about the game is how open it is for creativity. I have made a few scenarios, and our plays through them have been promising.

I had some questions about how to ...

How do you normally play the game?

I am curious how others typically approach Federation Commander. Do you normally play scenarios (either published or make your own?)

Do you normally select a fleet of ships to a certain point level and fight it out?

Do you do everything in the context of a campaign?

Federation Commander at Gen Con?

As best as I can tell there are not any official federation commander events at Gen Con this year. However, is anyone interested in meeting up and playing? I am most available and most interested on playing on Wednesday. I live locally, so I can bring all of the supplies (unless you have your own ...

I have only played a dozen or so scenarios, but I think the two of that have gone over the best were "Practice, Practice, and then what?" and "Hun in the Sun."

The first one is from Romulan Border. It is a three player scenario where a Gorn and Federation ship were practicing in a simulated battle ...

Scenarios for Booster Packs?

I noticed that several booster packs tend to be themed and hint at some sort of scenario that involves them. For example booster #8 (Battle of Tekezal), booster #19 (Lyrans trap Hydran Raiders), booster #21 (Lyrans vs. WYNS) and booster #27 (Battle without Hope) are all this way. Further more ...

I played this scenario today, and afterwards we realized just how slanted this was to the Romulans because of the point system, and I came to see if we had messed something up. I am glad we were not the only one who found some issues with this scenario.

I know that the last post in this thread was ...
