I've never found it worthwhile to pick off flagships with directed damage, but I do think you need to do it against starbases and capitals, right?

Surely the Klingons can't sit and let Alliance forces have COMPOTs over 150 for round after round, even if that means using CIDS to damage the bases and ...

I just needed to know the size I needed for very fine detailing.

Opening Moves and Directed Damage

I'm a long-time solo F&E player who has posted a bit on the old BBS (mostly about my hatred for PFs) and I wanted to ask a few questions that occurred to me as I read this forum.

During the initial Lyran and Klingon attacks, particularly the turn 2 or 3 attacks on the Kzinti starbases, are people ...

Invest in some good brushes, particularly a small one. It needs to be small enough to make a dot smaller than the head of a pin. They're not really too expensive.

Exactly what kind of brush would I need to start doing some minor detailing (impulse and warp engines and maybe some darker coloring ...

Well the 2500 looks much better (except for the oversized hangar) but it is way too big even considering the 2400 D5 is undersized.

Thanks!

Klingon D5 Comparison

Does anyone have pics of the 2500 and 2400 D5s next to each other?

I looked through other threads but didn't see this example.

Basically I'm wondering just how much bigger it is.

At 1:5000 they are too big to go with anything anyway.

That looks better than the Gamescience k type to me.

The one piece Gamescience is the k type that Zocchi still sells. It looks better overall than the 2400 D7 but has too wide of a command section and too thin of a rear (where you would paint impulse engines).

After looking on eBay, I just have ...

The Gamescience minis are better but the command section is a bit too wide. This is especially true in the underneath view.

Is the one piece Citadel mini any better? It has the cool K'tinga styling.

Someone should revive these older molds.

Wouldn't most people mostly just want D4 v. old Fed CL battles?

But I don't know how well the D4 would sell. I would buy it.

Any chance the D4 gets made?

Or an improved D7 to use as a D7C just like the Fed CC?

What about the one piece Gamescience? Not worth trying to dredge up?

I don't think I could put together the four piece to my satisfaction anyway.

Various D7 Designs

I own quite a few of the 2400 line minis. I am impressed with most of them but lately I have become a bit annoyed by the odd shape of the D7 bridge. It is much wider than the D7 or the K'tinga.

I've done quite a bit of research and it looks like this odd front shape was introduced with the 2400 ...
