Some other rules questions

It says in the rules "Drones can make one 60 degree turn per hex they move (Turn rate of 1.)

Does that mean "Move 1 forward, turn, move 1 forward, turn?" Or is that "Turn 60, turn 60, turn 60, turn 60?"

I was a bit confused as I haven't played in awhile.

Also, when shooting a cloaked opponent, it ...

Distance 0

So, I know you determine what shield is hit based on who entered the hex first (I must admit this rule confused me for a few minutes) but how do you determine which weapons can fire? Or are all weapons able to fire at range 0?

Just curious, but how many people actually even care who moves first? Like, how seriously do you take your games?

I could imagine it matters in a tournament or key-situation maybe, but otherwise... why not just move? I have never known the rule about who moves first, and I don't think its ever come ...

The whole point of speed 40 plasma is to extend its reach. As a result, the plasma damage chart would not change. Like I said, mojo implemented it correctly.

As for the bolt suggestion, 1-5 to hit at 1-3 is way, way too good. Try asking for 1-5 to hit as ranges 0-1. Still a very long shot, but at ...

Don't like the single board idea since them map (Usually) floats.

Also, interesting about Klingon Attack, I do wonder why it wasn't just called Kzinti Attack.

Each phase is discrete. Activity within a phase is simultaneous*.

Therefore, since plasma torpedoes hit during the Defensive Fire phase, their damage is scored and marked in that phase. The Offensive Fire phase comes after that and any damage scored in the Defensive Fire phase has already taken ...

Why would you call it "Kzinti Attack" if the Kzinti aren't even the ships of majority?
To give it a name and give it scope. And this has always been true. Klingon Attack had way more than Klingons, and I don't think they had the most ships.

And by "scope" I mean what will be included. So, in a ...

It would be wrong to say that Kzinti Attack would be mostly Kzintis. It would have two or three, but also Klingon, Lyran, Hydran, WYN. Maybe even Fed or Orion.

It would also be wrong to assume that Gorn Attack would be mostly Gorns. it would have Tholians, Romulans, and maybe Feds and Orions ...

Rules Question (Order of actions)

Was playing a game with my brother the other day, and we came across a problem. I hit him with Plasma torpedoes on the same turn he was going to shoot me. Note, not Plasma Bolts, Plasma Torpedoes, which I fired on an earlier impulse.

Does my damage take precedence, can he shoot at me first, or is ...

Re: Favorite smallish scenarios?

My gaming group regularly has 4 players and we've found that 2 on 2 (or 3 on 3 perhaps if the ships aren't too large) works about right as far as the amount of time we have to play. If prepared ahead of time, perhaps 3 on 3 with bigger ships.

My quandary is this: In the scenario booklets I have ...

Really, why should there be a lawsuit for having a NATO-WP War? That's not really something you can compromise.

Just a thought...

In a fleet engagement with Fusion Hydrans, wouldn't the threat of close range fusions be enough to scare the opponent away from closing below Range 3? Sabre Dancers can only do so much before they close the range, and with the stingers you could "sandwhich" the enemy into coming ...

Stay 13 to 15 hexes away. Contrary to what I've heard from some, your disruptors are your main weapons. Use Phasors only if you've got power left. After you've banged them up enough, charge and let the weapons fly!
