Thanks for sharing this with us. Sounds like the D6 really got unlucky with his die rolls! Sometimes that can be really annoying as you keep wondering how it might have turned out if you'd all rolled about average dice, so that the winning factors were tactical rather than just chance. ;)

At any ...

Sorry, still confused. :?

Here are the possible cases.

1) Neither ship accelerates.. Nobody moves and nobody has the possibility

2) Both Ships accelerate. Nobody moves and nobody has the possibility to decel.

Well, this isn't actually true in that in both of the above cases, both ships have ...

I think where it says it "cancels its movement" by decelerating, it doesn't so much cancel a move that would have physically happened on the board, but cancels the effect of the decelerting ship's "movement" (i.e. the effect of its engine power) for the impulse. This effect would have been to ...

1) Yes, this situation will only occur if both the tractoring and tractored ships have spent the same amount of energy on their baseline movement.

2) If both ships are due to move on the same sub-pulse (for example a ship at any baseline speed greater than 0 or stopped will be scheduled to move on ...

I think of it as something like that, where (for whichever reason) the weapon does not score a direct hit on the target because the cloaking device prevents the firer from seeing exactly where the cloaked ship is, though the target is known to be in a certain general area. In this respect, it is ...

NCAs were (as SVC says) were never meant to be better than CAs as such, but were meant to be bigger/better than the "war" cruisers (or "new light cruisers") so that they could perform the role of a heavy cruiser. While some NCAs are arguably better than their equivalent CAs in terms of sheer "combat ...

As a side issue, somethign that is also unclear in the rulebook is whether you add the "other shield" (as opposed to "weakest shield") damage of all hellbores fired from a particular ship at the same target before spreading these damage points out across the remaining 5 shields.

It seems to me to ...

Fair enough - keeps us on our toes. :) Will the booster cards be made known at a later date but before release like the other "bonus ships", or will it wait until some players have the boosters and start telling other people?

I was 15 when I started playing SFB..it took until I was 39 to figure it out.

LOL

I think I was about 13 when I started playing SFB, but I never really got the hang of the advanced rules, and to be honest I never used some of the features like special sensors and the like, as I stopped playing ...

Thanks Zero, I'm really glad you're enjoying the game. It's good to see people who wouldn't necessarily try SFB willing to pick up FC - this is in part what FC is all about, as it's designed to be more accessible than SFB, especially for new players. It's great to see that actually working in ...

Great idea Mike! I was a little bit disappointed at the lack of solitaire scenarios in Federation Commander myself, because I also don't get many chances to play with other people (and so don't get many chances to play at all because of this). Maybe with some decent solitaire scenarios, this could ...

16 for speed...

Also the Lyran started at speed 24, forgot to mention that!

I think also Kang made a minor mistake in closing to range 10-12 in the first place, rather than firing at 14-15 and keeping just that few hexes extra room to Saber Dance me in the next turn. I'm not sure how much ...
