Eric and I are still having trouble finding a time to meet up. He had, basically, three weeks taken up by work obligations and I could not play ion the one week he had available. We are still trying.

I will play in whatever format you choose. That said here are my comments.

1. Go with 1 month allowing the occasional extension or 45 days before jumping to 2 month. I'd stick at 1 for now.

2. If you want standard squads, I will design them for you before August 1.

3. I forget what Lee's ...

Mike,
Right. I was just replying to Nicole's suggestion that this should be changed.

The collection of rules Mike put together really tracks SFB cloak about as well as FC can manage.

ESGs, by the way, again taking SFB as a guidepost, should most definitely not void the cloak for all other direct fire weapons that impulse. They should, just as in SFB, do full damage, regardless of ...

I think that Mike's changes address the two most significant problems with cloak and that we should get them approved by SVC and then see if, as I suspect will be the case, that resolves the problems by making cloak viable and worth the large point value paid for it by Romulan ships. If it isn't ...

My thoughts are that while I agree there should be no speed restrictions, I am not really fussed about it. Let me go to SFB functionality to explain why.

Why does a Cloaked ship need to be able to move fast while under cloak? To prevent an enemy from just sitting on him.

Does this work in SFB? Yes ...

Mike,
That looks very good. It also looks simple, which is nice.

Lee,
In SFB the damage reduction from cloak looks like this:

1-2: full
3-4: half
5-6: quarter

That chart, in Fed Com, was simplified to 50% DR (the average effect of rolling on that chart is actually more than 50%, but that is what it was simplified to in Fed Com). Under no condition can a cloaked ...

There are two significant problems with cloak. The power cost is not one of them.

1. Seekers - this is the one being addressed in this thread.

2. The extreme ramifications of a voided cloak.

I am in general agreement with Lee and sfw on the seekers. I am indifferent to Lee's suggestion (seekers ...

Jim,
Lee and I are trying to get our game started, but I am the hold up. I was away this last week and this upcoming week my parent's are visiting for our new baby, then the following week we have more visitors. there is a good chance I won't have time to seriously play until after the 25th, which ...

In SFB the cloak is very effective against ESG. The perceptiin that it is not comes from people who don't fully understand the interactions of the rellevant rules. Appart from its instant and unmittigated damage, the ESG simply allows a chance (a 0% chance from simeone playing correctly) of ...

Lee,
I know this is something we have not yet done, but have you played plasma against D&D on a large map? My gut tells me that would be hopeless. But maybe I have that wring.

EPTs if implemented should not be race restricted. I think the Roms fair better than the Gorn, true. But that again is a ...

On the Draw, to be clear, it was a tournament strategic decision. Yes, I could have easily won in another 2-3 turns (because Fusion Hydran are pretty much broken in the tournament environment), but I also knew, in terms of winning the tournament, that a draw was acceptable and a loss was not. So I ...
