Doesn't the SFB version of the DNT have 3 R-torps?
Not sure if there is a fed-comm version yet, so that might be where the disconnect is.

Personally I expect the cost is kind of a hold over from SFB where plasmas had more "features" than they do in FC.

While I might take a G and I have taken F torps, I do think the S torp costs too much (more in terms of losing two option boxes rather than point cost) to be worthwhile, but, obviously ...

well the first "biggest" reason is way off. Sorry, but the problem was that very first firing after the HET. After than, ships could manuever away, etc.

Just dawned on me, but for the use of 2 power from one of the IPGs, the Vudar have the instant EM:

Declare EM and IPG +2 jamming. Bam. Immediate ...

I've been thinking about the new rule and I have a couple of questions/comments

1. Can the same IPG be used multiple times in a single turn subject to the limit of the four power (so a CA with two IPGs could have a +1 for the entire turn if it wanted to burn the power)?

2. Can an IPG be used in ...

I think what I would like to see is

1. A simplification of the defensive fire on Direct Fire drones. Basically defensive fire is at the entire group and every 4 points of damage kills a drone (eliminates the need to guess and calculate what to fire at each individual drone)

2. A chance to miss ...

My recollection (which could easily be wrong) is that, in SFB, the Vudar ships weren't negatively affected by the IPG ECM. However, the IPGs also needed to be powered with ION energy (which, beyond the limited amount produced by the ship, could be converted at a cost from warp).

I don't think that ...

The 1-1 cost is limited to number of batts. Beyond that, the normal 2 power/1 repair apply.

The potential to block/repair a lot of damage is there, but given the power needs of the faster arming weapons, it ends up being rather self-limiting in the end, unless you can manage to find a couple of ...

I did the actual first draft of the X-rules for the Round Rock FC group.

I sorta wanted to keep the +1 vs. non-X-Ships but got talked out of it. After playing with X-ships, I think tossing it was a good call (I wanted to make it take some power to gain the advantage, but that got a bit complicated ...

Here are the three impulse tracking tools I made.
Basically you just turn the dial and see what impulse and who moves in the little windows.

The one in back was the first one. It has all 32 sub-pulses on the tube, but was a little hard to read, so I made the other two (one for me and one for Rick's ...

Litko magnetic bases

I have found the magnetic bases from Litko to be fairly weak. They work ok for small/light minis, but I wouldn't count on them holding a mini from moving if it was, for example, the size of a fed/Klingon cruiser. Of course, YMMV.
