Not a worry Mike and thanks for the quick reply and for looking into it, if it is, such is life, I'll find a way to work around it! That's the fun of restrictions after all :D

Thought that was the case, shame it makes them insanely hard to use in pop up mode now. Oh well adjust tactics again!

Another Andro question

Just checking if it is possible to use an Emergency Decel to get your sat ships on board mid-turn if their baseline speed was above 8? From what I can read it isn't but wanted to confirm that's the intention?

Quick extra question on this one, if the seeking weapon is 22 hexes away and the target is cloaked would it lose tracking?

Few thoughts on plasma

Firstly I tend to agree plasma under FC has a few issues, I principally play Romulans these days and while I don't think that the weapon's woefully underpowered it is very hard to get bubble (launched) plasma to hit without either a catastrophic error of play from the opponent or some level of ...

Excellent mate, thanks for the tip, I'll set to that in the week!

Glad you liked the tactics, I actually really enjoy the cloak in FC, far more than SFB, but then again I didn't really play Rommies much then.

Have a great new year.

I've been playing the Romulans in our local campign for a while so thought I'd share a few things I've found that work.

Firstly, mix up your tactics, don't bubble or bolt and cloak consistently, the second that your opponent thinks they know you're going to cloak, then you'll be in trouble. Keep ...

One thing with plasma is to remember how the other side will view it. If you bubble 100 points, at a ship going at a relatively sane speed you'll pretty much guarantee a HET and your plasma will be down for a while. Dribbling plasma as they close is a far beter option in most circumstances ...

The Battle of Nowhere.

Admiral Roquefort sat in the remarkable luxurious flag bridge of the King Condor, Kraft, the return from planet 141 had been quieter than he had imagined, no Federation had been lurking in the asteroids to slow the journey. Unusual of late.

Suddenly there was an audible warning, proximity alert ...

With Romulans, on a location map, another possibility is for the first turn to use the cloak for the first turn to gain a useful osition while making the standard range 15 disrupter shot less effective and also requiring a closer range to achieve, with careful maneuvering you can come out of cloak ...

've used reverse movement a couple of times since I started playing FC - oddly more than I ever used it in SFB.

At low speeds (especially a speed plot of 0 reverse) it can be used as a surprise in the right circumstances, and has a littlemore than marginal use in asteroids.

Actually I think the ...
