(3FC) SETTING UP A GAME

There are a few things you need to do before requesting a Federation Commander PBEM game:

  • Read and understand THESE rules. If there’s something unclear, then please feel free to E-mail the PBEM Staff with your questions. You can also post any questions on ADB’s Discussion Board (in the Federation Commander Play by Email topic.
  • Decide what type of game you want to play. (i.e., Standard Duel, Scenario #, etc.)
  • Decide what rules you want to use. If you’re using PBEM Standard then you’re done with this step. Otherwise, make a listing of all the optional rules you want to include (or standard rules you want to exclude).
  • If you’re new to Federation Commander itself, then you’ll need to make sure this fact is known before you call for a game.

(3FC1) FINDING AN OPPONENT: Once you’re ready to go, you’ll need an opponent. The easiest way to do this will be to post a message to that effect on the Discussion Board.

(3FC2) MODERATORS: Every game must have a moderator, which makes moderators a very important commodity in the Federation Commander PBEM universe. Generally, it is requested that every player, after playing a couple of games, make themselves available to moderate games. Demand for moderators can be quite high, and volunteering to help out will help to keep new game starts from being delayed.

While players with some Federation Commander PBEM experience are preferred as moderators, it is not absolutely required.

Moderating a can be a very rewarding experience. (You get to see all the nasty tricks that two other players can pull on one another. Then you can use them yourself!) So give it a try.
