ADB Releases Ships for February!

On February 1, 2018, Amarillo Design Bureau completed its ninth wave of ships (73 in all, for over 500 available ships) in its shop on Shapeways.

The Federation gains its Federation Fleet Tug with no pods and a second one with a Starliner pod. Especially exciting are the release of more Franz Joseph designs. There are the Franz Joseph Tug with no pods and another with the Starliner pod, designed to move people across space. The Franz Joseph Federation heavy cruiser is available, based on drawings done for TV (but not pursued due to costs). The Franz Joseph version features a slightly larger, much curvier rear hull and different warp engine spacing and height. These are the official Franz Joseph designs offered by ADB, Inc. under its contract with Franz Joseph Designs. (We plan to release all of the Franz Joseph Federation ships over time. There are more tugs with varying numbers of pods and there will be other pod types.)

The line of "Fed Classic" ships was started in response to requests for smooth saucers. It gets the Federation Fleet Tug with no pods and one with a Starliner pod.

The Klingons aren't neglected. They get their D5S Scout Cruiser and D5SK Refitted Scout Cruiser.

The Romulans add the Condor+ dreadnought, FireHawk-K Heavy Cruiser, and FireHawk-K+ Heavy Cruiser. The "+" indicates it is a late-war design in the style of the Starline 2500 Romulan ships. They also get their StarHawk gunboats, Cohort-2 bombers, and Cohort-4 heavy bombers.

The Juggernaut fleet was built in another galaxy and sent to check us out. The Juggernaut Beta Dreadnought should prove an interesting challenge for the Milky Way residents.

The Tholians add their Police Destroyer.

The Seltorians get their mighty Hive Ship.

The Kzintis get their Police Corvette and Drone Cruiser.

The Lyrans and their wayward county of the Lyran Democratic Republic get their Cougar Carrier Tug, Cougar Battle Tug, Yaguarundi Light Carrier, and Siberian Tiger Carrier. They also get two sprues of pallets. One is of a pair of cargo pallets. The Combat Pallet Collection includes one battle pallet and one carrier pallet.

The Gorns get more fighters with their G-20 "Reptile," G-8 "Lizard," G-30 "Wyvern," Shenyang G-7, G-12 "Chimera," and G-10 "Dragon" fighters.

The Frax get their mighty battleship.

Empires from the Omega Octant continue to have new additions. The Medium Cruiser is the latest addition to Probr fleet. The Drex get their Dreadnought. The Trobrin get their White Diamond Bolt Cruiser. The Maesron add a Frignaut. A Short Carrier (and two different sprues of fighters) joins the Koligahr fleet. The Alunda get their Tracker.

Finally, we added a sprue of "specialty" shuttles. That includes a Ground Assault Shuttle, a Space Warning and Control Shuttle, a Scatter-Pack, and three kinds of Multi-Role Shuttles.

On March 1, 2018, Amarillo Design Bureau completed its tenth wave of ships (101 in all, for over 600 available ships) in its shop on Shapeways.

The Federation gains its New Scout Cruiser; the B-26 Bomber; the B-25 Bomber; and their own Heavy Shuttle Collection with three Heavy Transport Shuttles (HTS), one E3 Space Warning and Control (SWAC) Shuttle, and two Heavy Assault Shuttles (HAS). Especially exciting is the release of the last of the Franz Joseph designs. The Franz Joseph Federation Dreadnought is presented as Franz Joseph drew her. These are the official Franz Joseph designs offered by ADB, Inc. under its contract with Franz Joseph Designs. The line of "Fed Classic" ships was started in response to requests for smooth saucers. It gets the New Scout Cruiser.

The Klingons aren't neglected. They get their T7B Fleet Tug, T7K Refitted Fleet Tug, Z-1 "Zoran" Fighter, Z-H "Zerhon" Heavy Fighter, and Z-D "Zerdon" Fighter.

The Romulans add the Pioneer Eagle, King Eagle Command Cruiser, FireHawk-C Scout/Survey Ship, FireHawk-C+ Scout/Survey Ship, KR Heavy Cruiser (Obvious changes include a belly bird, scallops on the wings, and Romulan insignia), and KR Heavy Cruiser (Smooth, with no belly bird, no scallops on the wings, and no Romulan insignia for easier application of decals). The "+" indicates it is a late-war design in the style of the Starline 2500 Romulan ships.

The Tholians add their War Cruiser Heavy, Gunboat Pinwheel, Specialty Gunboat Pinwheel, Spider II-P fighter, Spider-H Heavy Fighter, and Gunboat Tender with Gunboats.

The Gorns get their Megalosaurus Light Cruiser, Megalosaurus+ Light Cruiser (refitted version), Allosaurus Buck Battlecruiser, and Allosaurus Buck+ Battlecruiser (refitted version).

The Kzintis get their Heavy Frigate and Needle Gunboat Flotilla.

The Juggernaut fleet was built in another galaxy and sent to check us out. The Juggernaut Light Cruiser should prove a challenge for the Milky Way residents.

The Seltorians get their Nest Ship.

The Lyrans and their wayward county of the Lyran Democratic Republic get their Light Tactical Transport. The Lyrans also get their refitted Tiger Heavy Cruiser and Jaguar War Cruiser in 3788 Scale.

The Hydrans make a return with their Chasseur New Scout Cruiser, Traveler Light Cruiser, Tartar Medium Cruiser, and Horseman Light Cruiser. Their Mongol Medium Cruiser was slightly reworked and re-released.

The WYN get their (Kzinti) Frigate (ZFF) and Pocket Battleship.

The Frax get their War Drone Destroyer, Submarine War Cruiser, and Submarine Missile Cruiser.

Empires from the Omega Octant continue to have new additions. The Gunboat Tender and Gunboat Flotilla are the latest additions to the Probr fleet. The Drex get their Hex Cruiser. The Trobrin get their Refitted Gunboat Tender, Bolt Gunboat Flotilla, and Torpedo Gunboat Flotilla. The Maesron add an Early Gunboat Tender and Gunboat Flotilla. An Early Gunboat Tender and Gunboat Flotilla join the Koligahr fleet. The Alunda get their Devourer Destroyer. The Chlorophons are introduced with their Great Oak Heavy Cruiser, Birch Destroyer, and White Pine Frigate. The Vari are also introduced with their Heavy Cruiser and Frigate.

Finally, we added a sprue of skiffs and a sprue of heavy shuttles. The skiffs include the Security Skiff, Seeker Skiff, Slammer Skiff, and Modular Courier. The heavy shuttles include three Heavy Transport Shuttles (HTS) and three Heavy Assault Shuttles (HAS).

ADB Announces Surprise April 1 Ship Release

The only things that are April Fool's about this are the ships themselves. Using one of them in a game requires permission from the opponent's girlfriend (or mother, sister, child, sibling, significant other, or other potentially bribable person designated by the opponent).

The Gorn Bubble Dreadnought (both regular and refitted) was too big for the shipyards unless tugs or light tactical transports were used to move the bubbles around. Add to that it had too many places where it could break and it remains a dream.

The Wyn Auxiliary Heavy Mauler was a myth (or is it?) perpetuated by the WYNs. It would certainly put a dampener on an intruder's day.

The Kzinti Tri-Maran earned its designer a quick execution for suggesting the Lyrans might have had a cool idea to be copied.

The Tholian Crown of Tholia was deemed far too expensive in parts to build. One large, unwieldy ship isn't necessarily better than the five ships that could be assembled from the same parts.

We hope you enjoy these ships -- and that the bribes don't break the bank!

ADB Releases Ships for April!

On April 2, 2018, Amarillo Design Bureau completed its 11th wave of ships (48 in all, for nearly 700 available ships) in its shop on Shapeways.

The Federation gains its Strike Carrier in both the "regular" and "Fed Classic" (started in response to requests for smooth saucers) versions.

The Klingons aren't neglected. They get their D7VB Strike Carrier and D7VK Refitted Strike Carrier.

The Romulans add the OmniHawk Light Dreadnought, OmniHawk+ Light Dreadnought, Shrike Light Dreadnought, KRC Command Cruiser (obvious changes include a belly bird, scallops on the wings, and Romulan insignia), and KRC Command Cruiser (smooth, with no belly bird, no scallops on the wings, and no Romulan insignia for easier application of decals). The "+" indicates it is a late-war design in the style of the Starline 2500 Romulan ships.

The Gorns get their Compsognathus Frigate, Compsognathus+ Frigate (refitted), Compsognathus-B Battle Frigate, and Compsognathus-B+ Battle Frigate(refitted).

The Kzintis get their Battle Frigate.

The Juggernaut fleet was built in another galaxy and sent to check us out. The Juggernaut Frigate is the smallest of the ships that were built that Milky Way residents have documented to this point.

The Lyrans and their wayward county of the Lyran Democratic Republic get their Cave Lion Battleship. The Lyrans also get their refitted Leopard Destroyer and Panther Light Cruiser in 3788 Scale.

The Hydrans gain their Escort Lancer, Outrider Survey Ship, and Uhlan Patrol Carrier.

The Space Amoeba makes its appearance. The small Space Amoeba is about 2"; the medium Space Amoeba is about 4"; the large Space Amoeba is about 6".

Empires from the Omega Octant continue to have new additions. The Bolosco Merchant Guilds are introduced with their Merchant Cruiser and Exchanger, which is their frigate-sized ship.

Don't forget our nine April 1 ships! ADB Releases Ships for May!

On May 1, 2018, Amarillo Design Bureau completed its 12th wave of ships (54 in all, for over 700 available items) in its shop on Shapeways.

The Federation gains its Guided Weapons Dreadnought in both the "regular" and "Fed Classic" (smooth saucer) versions.

The Klingons aren't neglected. They get their E4 Escort, also known as the light frigate or corvette.

The Romulans add the MegaHawk Dreadnought, MegaHawk+ Dreadnought, SuperHawk-K Command Cruiser, SuperHawk-K+ Command Cruiser, RoyalHawk-K Command Cruiser, RoyalHawk-K+ Command Cruiser, K9R Dreadnought (obvious changes include a belly bird, scallops on the wings, and Romulan insignia), and K9R Dreadnought (smooth, with no belly bird, no scallops on the wings, and no Romulan insignia for easier application of decals). The "+" indicates it is a late-war design in the style of the Starline 2500 Romulan ships.

The Gorns get their Carnosaurus Destroyer, Carnosaurus+ Destroyer (refitted), Ceratosaurus Battle Destroyer, Ceratosaurus+ Battle Destroyer (refitted), and Pterodactyl Gunboat Flotilla. The flotilla includes the leader variant and a scout variant. Also included are a 3788 Scale and 3125 Scale gunboat that can be used as a "casual" gunboat that some ships carried. These small gunboats, unlike the Omni Scale gunboats, are designed to be glued to a ship and do not include a stand hole.

The Kzintis get their War Destroyer and 3788 Scale Dreadnought.

The Juggernaut fleet was built in another galaxy and sent to check us out. The Juggernaut Battleship is the largest of the ships and a deadly opponent.

We believe that the 285 Scale is a good one for people who want to use fighters or bombers for dogfights or shuttles for role-playing games. They will also be good display models for you to show off your favorite paint schemes. To give you a good selection, we are releasing 20 ships.

The Federation gains its F-15 "Eagle" Fighter, F-14 "Tomcat" Fighter, F-18 "Hornet" Fighter, and A-20 "Avenger" Heavy Fighter.

The Klingons enter with their Z-H "Zerhon" Heavy Fighter, Z-Y Fighter, and Z-1 "Zoran" Fighter.

The Romulans have their Gladiator-D Superiority Fighter, Tribune-D Heavy Fighter, and Gladiator-IIIK Assault Fighter.

The Gorns get their G-12 "Chimera" Fast Fighter as well as both the G-18-K and G-18-KA "Serpent" fighters.

The Kzintis have their TAAS Fighter.

The Tholians are well represented with their Spider-II Fighter, Spider-V Fast Heavy Fighter, and Spider-H Bomber.

Will / Jean, Do you have a full listing with the line-numbers of everything uploaded to Shapeways, like what Will posted above? If so, can you post it someplace? Perhaps put it on the Master Index as a PDF? Thanks!

Garth, that list doesn't exist because those numbers are meaningless. The only way to do that is to sort the store by newest and then start on p. 21 and work backward through 1006 ships. And then you have exactly the same information you would have by looking at the release notice each month.

Shapeways doesn't have stock numbers per se. They have some sort of numbering system internally. The 3125 Fed CAR is 5QS9LQ769; the 3125 Lyran Running Tiger is SGAA2W5SE; the one released right before it is UB2QZ78HQ.

So those numbers are ones that SVC uses to make sure he doesn't overlook a ship. If his numbers match the number of ships in the shop, life is good.

They add the Police Cutter in both the Masterson and Callaghan styles. They also get their F-111 Heavy Drone Fighter and F-12 Fast Fighter (including ones in the new 285 Scale).

The Inter-Stellar Concordium can start enforcing peace among the empires with three of their ships: the Destroyer, Light Cruiser, and Star Cruiser which is their heavy cruiser.

Many empires can wreak havoc with the 285 Scale Scatter-Pack Shuttle that is released this month.

Empires from the Omega Octant continue to have new additions. The Worb are introduced with their Heavy Cruiser and Heavy Destroyer.

We have released two more space dragons that are to be feared by any wise ship captain. These are the Ancient Male and Ancient Female space dragons who could easily overwhelm any ship short of a battleship.
