After weeks of preparation, I was finally able to play my first game in the Star Fleet Universe. Brian and I played two turns of Feddie vs Klingon using the First Missions rules and SSDs along with SFB counters and map. As the Klingon player I dishonored my Emperor and family by nearly losing my ship to damage. Course it didn't help that we had missed the rules concerning how often a weapon can fire until Turn 2 Impulse 2. I'm sure we missed/messed up more rules than that but in the end we both had a blast and were talking about the game long afterwards. Brian seems interested in continuing our First Missions into the new year so I'm hopeful that I'll have an opponent finally. Here's hoping I can reel him in and get more players in the near future. There's a public gaming group not far away in Sunbury, PA so perhaps I'll eventually become a Ranger and start demoing. Only time will tell.

Andy, I'm curious about how you actually played it wrong about how often a weapon can fire. Can you elaborate?

I confused turn with impulse. I'm not used to Turns having multiple steps so I misread 1E3b and thought that each IMPULSE ALL weapons could be fired again.
