Hi all:

Was wondering if there is a detailed example of play for 1-2 turns that goes thru a F&E turn and has specific exampe of combat with and without bases:

1. Has a graphic/image of map with counters
2. Starts with selection of Battlehex
3. Withdrawl example by defender
4. Each side selection of Battle Force
5. Placement on Battle Board of Battle Forces
6. (ASSUME Battle Intensity rules 304 in used)
6a. Attacker then Defender select BIF (value 1-4 selection)
7. Roll 1d6 and cross index versus BIR to get % result
8. Add all attack factors for a Combat Potential value.
9. Multiply Combat Potential value by % (Advanced combat cofficient Table %)
*** this is the Combat damage points inflicted on defender ****
10. Damage Allocation (step 6 Rule 302.6)
11. Both player units cannot exist/occupy same hex ----- retreat, Annihilation, or cycle again
if conditions apply until Battle Hex is resolved....

I'm just trying to understand the overall procedures before I start to drill down on the specifics...

cheers, Matt

No one has ever done one. (I don't have time, others just haven't done it as they are working on products.) I could easily see it taking 16-24 pages. A LOT of things happen in F&E.

A very small example with just a few ships might be doable in two or three days of work.

If you go over to the other Discussion board, there are player who have posted their PMEM games. It might not go into the detail you asked for, but it's a start.

Thanks guys!

I will follow your recommendations. One thing I appreciated was the detailed AAR for Advanced Squad Leader scenarios in the General magazine. It really helped. I've starting reading Captain's Log and thought perhaps a AAR might be in one. All good. Very Happy

What caused me to post this was me reading rule 302.36 Minimum Force and NOT realizing that 3xF5Q in Example #1 was actually 9 ships not 3 Embarassed

I couldn't figure out last night how the total ships kept adding up to 30 but figured it out.

The rule book is laid out nice, I just need some practice on looking up information (and use the PDF word search!)
