Comment from Facebook regarding Distant Armada:
"I wonder how they're going to make Hydrans the ultimate 'crunch' race when every race in SFU Starmada is already a crunch race...!"
What, pray tell, is a "crunch race"? _________________ Daniel Kast

A "crunch race" is a race whose primary tactic is to close to short range and unload overloaded weapons in one big salvo. (In contrast to the Klingon "saber dance" of sniping continually at longer range.)
The Fed overloaded photon tactic is the textbook example.
The Hydrans are even *more* of a crunch race thanks to their fusion beams and fighters.
Currently in SFU Starmada, all races are more-effective-than-average "crunch races" because of hard hitting triple-ROF phasers and near-automatic-hit heavy weapons (such as plasma).
This leaves the Hydrans being even *more* insanely crunchy or else (maybe?) ending up being not-so-special. |
