As my pappy always said, "better to fight and run away, so you can run away again some other day."

Better yet, from Monty Python:

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared its ugly head, he bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about and gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the braaaave, Sir Robin!

The NCL just took a sixteen-point plasma-F hit to it's #5 shield, yielding four internal damage points. Nothing significant was hit. What IS significant is two plasma-Fs and plasma-S which will impact in the first sub-pulse of Impulse #4. As they say in football, "That's gonna leave a mark!" I actually thought the NCL could outrun the plasma, guess I didn't count properly. I'm pretty sure the NCL is toast. And the ISC's position is stronger than I thought it was. After the schemozzle last turn, I really thought I had pretty much lost the game right there. Talk about a see-saw.

Baseline 16, no power for acceleration. Nope, the NCL was in trouble. Its ok, I am learning, not having battled plasma empires much. I tried to take you down early; I should have went all baseline 24, limiting my offense, and hope you fire your plasmas. With the amount of time it would take for you to get those plasma back online, I would have a better chance.

However, the NCL does look lost.

Still, this has been a real interesting game, and very enjoyable.

Yeah, I think I am about to take 41 points (if I count right) from 1 PL-S and 2 PL-F's against my #4. That will be 29 internals.

Should knock me down to a maybe 4 power left, maybe a Phaser and Photon (without power to do anything), plus a couple of frame hits as gravy (along with losing all hull and system spaces and control).

Yep. She's toast.

No I think they'll impact your #5. They move in the first sub-pulse of the next impulse and your NCL won't... that should blow up the NCL.

OTOH my fleet is split up now. So I think there is an opportunity for revenge there.

They are just "moving to optimal PPD firing range". It's totally an offensive move.

The Federation NCL did indeed "eat" 41 points of Plasma Torpedoes througha downed shield on Sub-Pulse one of Impulse 4.
With only 36 boxes (including FRAME DAMAGE) remaining, we did not go to the effort to roll out the damage, we just marked it as destroyed following the non-existent Def Fire phase.
Waiting on rebids from both players for Offensive Fire and Impulse activities:

Here's the current map:

Map error:
The Fed NCA should be in 2813F... not 2812F.

edit:
No offensive wepaons fire or impulse activites by either side.

Eagerly awaiting bids for Turn 2.5 through 2.8.

The CA still has eight drones targeted on it... it must deal with them in some way if it is to get back into the fight. That many drones would make the plasmas look like a firecracker!

Turn 2, Impulse 5 - Launch Weapons phase:

so far, Turn 2, Impulse 5 has seen...
A HET by the ISC frigate...
Three phasers from the FF to the NCA for 14 points...
12 on the shield and 2 internals (one F Hull and 1 BTTY)...
Three ISC ships dropped facing shields...
Three failed H&R raids against the NCA warp engines...
Then the successful application of a tractor beam from the ISC FF to the Fed NCA...

More to come later.

It might be useful to see where their turn mode counters are if that's not too hard. If it's much work at all please ignore me Smile.

Trying not to clutter the board with extra info.
the turn point counters are there...
The baseline speeds are posted in the start of turn notes...

You can count from turn point to ship and then see when they can turn again fairly quickly.
